    Abstract: A modular floor tile having interlocking members which are reinforced to prevent a gap from forming between adjacent tiles during use. The tile comprises a plastic support grid having a rectangular configuration bounded by a perimeter wall on four sides and including a latticework of support members on the underside thereof. The support members are integrally formed as part of the tile and include leg portions extending downwardly therefrom which have common lengths in order to provide a single plane of contact at the supporting floor. Interlock members are coupled to and extend outward from the perimeter wall to enable removable attachment of additional modular tiles of similar design at corresponding edges thereof. A continuous sheet of plastic can be integrally formed in uniform thickness with a top surface of the tile to provide a flat surface on which recreational games can be played on an interlocked grid of tiles.

    Abstract: Reversible quadrangular mats of similar construction are provided, defining a grille section on one face and a flat section on the opposite face, and interlocking edgewise joints to edgewisely releasably interlock the mats in coplanar fashion. These joints include thicknesswise grooves made at the peripheral side edge sections of each mat, defining two upturned edgewise lips in two adjacent grooves and two downturned edgewise lips in the two other grooves. The mats are made from a semi-flexible material. One side lip of a first mat is frictionally engageable into one side groove of a second mat, for their interconnection.

    Abstract: A system of prefabricated board mats for assembling plank roads for supporting heavy equipment on unprepared surfaces. The system is based on a standard eight foot by sixteen foot three-ply treated lumber prefabricated board road section. Individual board mat sections are linked in the direction of travel using a mating male and female plug and socket system to evenly transfer the weight load of heavy equipment in the direction of travel. Angle iron interlocks are provided laterally at the corners. The mats are lifted by use of three or more eyebolts countersunk into the top of the mat at strategic locations so that balance is maintained.In practice a porous protector filter cloth section is laid on an area where a board mat is to be placed. The individual board mat sections are laid successively from an initial prepared position by rolling out the protective cloth, lifting the individual sections by crane or the like, dropping the section into position, linking them transversely through the lateral connections. The installation machinery and the supply truck containing the individual board mat sections then proceed forward onto the section of boards laid and install a second section. Each successive section is longitudinally linked by installing a male plug end into an exposed female end which is at the outer edge as the normal laying process proceeds. This direction facilitates successive installation by machinery of the board mats.

    Abstract: A garden structure includes a plurality of adjacent plastic base members with each of the base members including a frame portion, a filler portion, a sealing portion and a fastening portion. The frame portion includes spaced substantially flat major sections, sections having substantially the same configuration and being disposed substantially parallel to each other. Sidewall sections extend between adjacent peripheral edges of the major sections and at least two opposed sidewall sections are substantially parallel to each other throughout their lengths. The spaced major sections and sidewall sections together form a cavity within the base member. The filler portion includes particulate material compressed within the cavity of the base member and filling same. The sealing portion includes an opening in one sidewall of the base member and a cover section engageable with and completely enclosing the opening. The fastening portion includes securing mechanism disposed adjacent the opposed parallel sidewall sections. Base members filled with particulate material through the opening therein and sealed with the cover section are positioned with the opposed sidewall sections closely adjacent to each other and are maintained in this relationship through the fastening portion to form the garden structure.

    Abstract: Tesselation or paving element or tile comprising an underpart having two by two symmetrical side surfaces, of which one pair is converging and the other diverging in the direction of the upper surface, said part carrying at its upper surface a prism, the base of which is congruent with the upper surface, wherein said prismatic part makes up at least one-third, preferably more than half of the height of the element in order to improve the mutual interlocking in directions perpendicular to the surface of the paving as well as making the joints impenetrable for loose underlayer. Tesselation of paving element or tile having parallel upper surfaces and bottom faces and oblique, two by two symmetrical side surfaces, of which at least one pair is converging in the upper surface and at least another pair in the bottom face, are known. Thus, these bodies make up shortened cross prisms, the axis of which is parallel with the upper surface and the bottom face. By joining these bodies together the elements are fixed in upwards as well as in downwards direction, when the tesselated or tiled pattern has been arranged. Each element may on its upper surface as well as on its bottom face carry a prism, the base of which is corresponding to or smaller than the surface in question, said base having such a form that the elements when joined may form a continuous surface. By these known elements the height of the prism in question is small in comparison with that of the cross prism.
