Disclosed herein are a data input device and an input conversion method using the data input device. The data input device includes a detection unit provided in a predetermined input region, the detection unit processing first directional input that generates a first directional input signal through detection of lateral pressing in a predetermined radial direction by a finger placed at a reference location in the input region, second directional input that generates a second directional input signal through detection of vertical pressing in a predetermined direction in a state in which the finger is placed at the reference location, third directional input that generates a third directional input signal through detection of tilt pressing in a state in which the finger is placed at the reference location, and fourth directional input that generates a fourth directional input signal through detection of a tilt input in a state in which the finger is placed at the reference location; and a control unit configured to determine input locations of a lateral pressing direction, vertical pressing direction, tilt pressing direction and tilting direction of the finger, extract relevant data from memory, and input the extracted data; wherein the data is input through combination of two or more of the first to fourth directional inputs.

There is provided a flexible, lightweight high-performance proportional input interface (10) cooperative with a textile garment or upholstery as well as with any of a variety of different electronics (50) without compromising the comfort and/or durability of the textile (1). The proportional input interface (10) has one or more areas of a conductive elastomeric material (20) that cooperate with an actuator (30) to translate and/or communicate intuitive user input proportionally to the one or more areas of conductive elastomeric material (20) such that the user input can be converted and/or altered into a signal suitable for accomplishing one more complicated functions and/or operations associated with various electronic devices and/or systems (50).

Es ist eine Schaltvorrichtung bekannt, die an einer Außenwand von Fahrzeugen aller Art zum Öffnen der Türen dient. Die Schaltvorrichtung weist ein Gehäuse mit einer Tastfläche zur Betätigung auf. Im Gehäuse-Innenraum ist ein piezoelektrischer Wandler angeordnet. Wenn eine Person mit einem Finger auf die Tastfläche drückt, erzeugt der Wandler ein elektrisches Signal und führt dieses elektronischen Schaltungsmitteln zu. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein Kraftfahrzeug mit einer Schaltvorrichtung zu schaffen, die das optische Erscheinungsbild des Kraftfahrzeugs möglichst wenig beeinträchtigt. Erfindungsgemäß weist ein Kraftfahrzeug an der Fahrzeugaußenseite eine Schaltvorrichtung (6, 7, 8) mit einem piezoelektrischen Wandler hinter einer Tastfläche auf. Die Tastfläche wird gebildet durch einen Bereich einer Fensterscheibe (2) oder eines Karosserieaußenhautbauteils (1), sodass die Schaltvorrichtung (6, 7, 8) von der Fahrzeugaußenseite nicht sichtbar oder nur durch die Fensterscheibe (2) hindurch sichtbar ist.
