Abstract:
A method for detecting a position of a pair of ear phones at a user and a detection apparatus (10) for detecting a position of a pair of ear phones at a user are described. A first and a second heart beat signal (S1, S2) is detected by a respective first and second heart beat sensor (13, 14) at a respective first and second ear phone (11, 12) of the pair of ear phones. A detection unit (15) uses a time difference (25) between the first and second heart beat signal to determine which ear phone is located at the right ear and which ear phone is located at the left ear. The detection unit may comprise a switching unit (18) to guide multi - channel audio data of an audio source (17) correspondingly. The heart beat sensor may comprise one of an optical sensor, a pressure sensor, or a sound sensor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a headset comprising a housing with an earphone and at least one user interface input or output function, said headset also comprising a fastening element arranged for positioning the headset close to a person's ear during use. According to the invention, said headset furthermore comprises an accelerometer arranged for detecting the orientation in at least one dimension of said housing, said accelerometer being associated with a headset control unit which is arranged for configuring a function of said user interface input or output function depending on said orientation of the housing.
Abstract:
A wireless, multi- function audio gateway device provides communication between the headset and at least one audio gateway. The headset includes a housing having at least one multifunction button, and a first and a second microphone. The first microphone is located closer to a user's mouth than the second microphone. The headset also includes a flexible ear bud, a speaker, a volume control button, a rechargeable battery, a USB port, a detachable ear wrap, and a programmable baseband IC. The programmable baseband IC is configured for wireless communications to allow interfacing between the at least one audio gateway and the wireless headset. Methods for improved noise suppression, pairing and communicating with multiple audio gateways simultaneously, and allowing headset-to-headset communications between two wireless, multiple audio gateway headsets are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A reversible behind-the-head mounted personal audio set (30) that may be worn on either a wearer's left or right ear is disclosed. The behind-the-head headband (32) occupies a substantially horizontal plane and a headset-mounting portion (42) is pivotally secured to the headband (32) at a first pivot (40) so that the center of the earphone (39) is positioned below the plane of the headband (32). IA boom microphone (46) is pivotally secured to the headset (30) mounting portion at a second pivot (48) axis spaced apart from said first pivot (40) axis.
Abstract:
An earpiece (10) suitable for use with two-way radios is configured to be captured at least partially within the conchae of an ear. The earpiece is configured for use in either ear. The earpiece is particularly suited for use by police and security personnel because it reduces costs associated with the manufacture, purchase, and inventory thereof, while allowing both the radio and ambient sound to be readily heard through both ears.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a communications headset. The headset comprises a housing that includes a speaker driver. The headset further comprises a nozzle for insertion into an ear canal. The nozzle is coupled to the housing. The headset additionally comprises an acoustically isolating ear piece coupled to the nozzle, the ear piece and the housing providing of acoustic isolation from ambient sound over the range of audible frequencies. The headset further comprises a microphone.
Abstract:
A communications headset (1) to be worn on an ear of a user. The headset (1) comprises: a housing (2) provided with a speaker and a microphone, and a hook (4) connected to the housing (2) through a joint, which hook (4) is configured for being positioned above and behind the ear (6) of a user when the headset (1) is worn by the user. The headset (1) is further configured with rotation means that allows the hook (4) to be rotated about an axis (B) between a position in which it is located close to the housing (2) and a position in which it protrudes from the housing (2). The housing (2) is provided with a concha-engaging part (3) that protrudes from the housing (2)and is adapted to be positioned in the concha of the ear when the headset (1) is worn by the user.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a new type of headset solution. The headset according to the invention has a spring (17) loaded hinge (16) placed in front of the ear, which guarantees a stable pressure for any ear size. The headset according to the invention can be used, for example, as a cordless telephone headset or a cordless computer headset.
