Abstract: PURPOSE:To form corrosion preventive lining of a constant film thickness on a substrate by forming a compd. contg. an epoxy resin and a curing agent to a powder resin of specific characteristics, coating the same on the substrate by powder painting and finishing the paint film to required sizes and shapes then curing the paint film by heating. CONSTITUTION:After a compd. contg. an epoxy resin and a curing agent for the same are melted and mixed to a state B, the mixture is ground and is held for the gelling time when the values which are the grain sizes passing through a Tyler standard screen scale sieve of 42 meshes and are obtained by measuring the relations between the gelling time and temp. in accordance with the method specified in JIS K 5909 exist within the regions of the symbols a-d. Such resin powder is used and is applied on a substrate by powder painting or, more preferably, a plastic melt spraying method, whereby the paint film of about 1-5mm. thickness and in the state B is formed. The required parts of the paint film are finished to required sizes and shapes by machining or heating, and are then heated, whereby the surface of the paint film is smoothed and the reaction for curing is effected.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To spray a molten material in a desired pattern onto a defined surface area of an article, by placing and interceptor on the way of a high-temperature, high-speed stream such as gas flame, and controlling a cross sectional form of powder grains being injected and flying. CONSTITUTION:Powder grains 5 are injected into a high-temperature, high-speed gas stream 4 generated by a gas combustion flame spraying burner 3. When the powder grains are injected to the stream, the powder grains are dispersed and a part 6 of the powder grains flies outside the stream. Those grains dispersed outside the stream are intercepted by a water-cooled copper interceptor 2 whose opening 2' has an area equal to the cross sectional area of the gas stream. Consequently, only powder grains flying in the gas stream pass through the opening 2' and reach the surface of an article 1, to generate a spray-coated layer 7. The interceptor 2 is supported by a gun barrel 9 of the spray burner. The interceptor 2 can be moved vertically, horizontally, or back and forth by driving means 8.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide sufficient reinforcement effect in a short period, by a method wherein an epoxy resin powder having a specific characteristic is melted and sprayed to form a padding while maintaining the part to be reinforced such as defect area in a preheated condition at 100-220 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy resin powder is prepared by mixing and melting 100 parts of epoxy resin, 100 parts of silica powder, 1 part of iron oxide powder, 1 part of flow controlling agent, and 6 parts of amide type hardner, and crushing after cooling. The obtained powder has grain size to pass taylor standard 60 mesh sieve and not to pass 150 mesh, is claimed to have a repose angle less than 43 degrees, and has curing velocity indicated by the shadowed area P in the figure. The powder is melt-sprayed to build up reinforcement on the defect area preheated to 180 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To avoid the blockade of the hole area, the exfoliation or the like under use of the element by installing the refractory protective layer, which is formed to the outer wall of the oxygen sensor element by the plasma flame spraying of the refractories powder, by increasing the space between the torch and the solid electrolyte under the process of the flame spraying. CONSTITUTION:Ion conducting solid electrolyte sintered substance 10 of the tip- closed tube type, which contains the 1st metal electrode on the inner circumference surface plus the 2nd metal electrode on the outer circumference surface each is turned centering on the axial line. Then refractories powder 2 such as Al2O3, MgO, Al2O3 and the like is sprayed to substance 10 from torch 1 to form the plasma flame spraying attachment layer. In this case, space D between substance 10 and torch 1 is increased (for example, to about 160mm from about 140mm) under the plasma flame spraying to change the properties of the flame spraying attachment layer. It is also preferable to carry out the flame spraying with reduction of the plasma electric power (for example, to about 20kW from about 35kW) in accordance with increment of space D.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit the formation of uniform paint film whose thickness is freely controllable by the procedure in which a liquid paint is coated on an object at ordinary temperature, then a powder paint is coated on it while its surface viscosity remains unchanged, and lastly the paint film is heated and melted for unification. CONSTITUTION:A liquid paint is coated on an object to be coated at ordinary temperature, then a powder paint is coated on it while its surface viscosity remains unchanged, and lastly the paint film is heated and melted for unification. In this case, coating is made by brushing, roller coating, or spraying coating method by using a cold or hot setting type liquid paint and any type of powder paint. Thus, uniform paint film can be secured and the thickness of the paint film can be controlled freely because a repeated coation of powder paint can be performed.
