The present invention relates to an oil-free turbocharger assembly using an airfoil bearing that may be useful in high speed conditions. The assembly can be cooled easily. A heat-proof coating can also be easily applied to the turbo charger's rotating shaft. In one embodiment, an oil-free turbocharger assembly has a constant distance between a journal portion and a rotating shaft so that the mass of the rotating body can be minimized and the rotating body assembly can have a small moment of inertia. The turbocharger in some embodiments of the invention may be cooled by a refrigerant which improves cooling efficiency. Each part of the rotating body assembly in some embodiments may be individually treated with a heat-proof process so that productivity can be improved.

The present invention relates to an integrated, composite hybrid electric device in which various devices are formed as a single unit on one flexible substrate, and a fabrication method thereof. More particularly, the present invention a hybrid electric device in which a display device, a vibration-generating (or vibration-sensing) device, and a non-volatile memory device are formed on a single flexible piezoelectric polymer substrate into a single unit by using a flexible piezoelectric polymer substrate whose both surfaces are thinly deposited with a patterned transparent oxidation electrode, and a fabrication method thereof.

The present invention relates to a device for generating stiffness and a method for controlling stiffness, which can generate stiffness by using elastic members and can control the stiffness, and a joint of a robot manipulator to which the device and method can be applied. The device for generating stiffness includes a rotating shaft; a plurality of elastic members fixed to the rotating shaft; upper and lower circular plates that are disposed so as to be spaced from each other with the elastic members interposed therebetween, are independently driven with respect to the rotating shaft by power generating units thereof, respectively, and respectively have slits of which the number is equal to the number of the elastic members; and a plurality of moving members that are inserted into the slits formed in the upper and lower circular plates, re¬ spectively, and are connected to the elastic members so as to move.

The present invention relates to an economical manufacturing method of a machinable Cr 2 AlC sintered material, and particularly to a process of preparing a Cr 2 AlC sintered material, the process comprising (a) preparing chromium carbide powder comprising 95 vol % or more of Cr 7 C 3 and Cr 3 C 2 crystalline phase by conducting reduction of low-priced Cr 2 O 3 powder with a carbon source powder and (b) hot-pressing a powder mixture of the chromium carbide and Al powder. In the present invention, low-priced Cr 2 O 3 is used as a raw material, thus remarkably lowering the manufacture cost as compared to the conventional process. Moreover, Cr 2 AlC sintered material prepared according to the present invention is similar to or even better than the Cr 2 AlC fabricated by a conventional process in thermal, mechanical and electrical properties and machinability, and is thus capable of widening the applications of Cr 2 AlC sintered material as a structural material in industry.

The present invention relates to a co-culture method of Sphingomonas sp. bacterial strain and Aspergillus sp. fungus strain, in which the novel Sphingomonas sp. bacterial strain KMK-001 is cultured in a liquid medium and the novel Aspergillus sp. strain KMC-901 separately cultured in another liquid medium is added to the above culture solution, a novel glionitrin biosynthesized therefrom and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the said glionitrin or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. The glionitrin herein has strong cytotoxic effect on cancer cells and has antibiotic effect on 10 pathogenic bacteria including the novel Sphingomonas sp. bacterial strain KMK-001, so that it can be effectively applied in antibiotics or anti-cancer agents.

The present invention relates to a composition containing Pentaphylloides fruticosa extract as an active ingredient. Pentaphylloides fruticosa extract of the present invention extracted by using water, alcohol or a mixture thereof as a solvent inhibits the activity of AP-1 (activator protein-1), a MMP-I transcription factor, inhibits type I collagenase, a skin matrix decomposing enzyme, but increases collagen, a major component of skin, so that it can be effectively used as a preparation for skin external application including cosmetics owing to its wrinkle and elasticity improving effects. In addition, Pentaphylloides fruticosa extract of the present invention has radical scavenging effect, so that it can also be effectively used as an antioxidative agent.

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of cancer comprising daurinol as an active ingredient, more precisely a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of cancer comprising daurinol isolated from the medicinal plant of Mongolia, Haplophyllum dauricum or Haplophyllum cappadocicum, as an active ingredient. Daurinol can selectively block the S phase of cancer cell cycle to disturb the cycle and induce apoptosis stepwise, resulting in anticancer effect. Therefore, daurinol of the present invention can be used as a positive control chemical in the research and development field of cancer biology especially for cancer therapy and prevention. Daurinol also can be a promising candidate for a novel cell cycle blocker and a novel apoptosis inducer which could be effectively used for the prevention and treatment of cancer in the end.
