The method includes providing a tongue, including a first locking surface, at a first edge of the first panel, forming a tongue groove, including a second locking surface, at a second edge of the second panel, the first locking surface and second locking surface are configured to cooperate for locking the first edge to the second edge in a first direction, providing a first guiding surface at the first edge and a second guiding surface at the second edge, wherein the first guiding surface cooperates with the second guiding surface during an assembling of the first edge and the second edge, and working of the first guiding surface and/or the second guiding surface to reduce the coefficient of friction between the first guiding surface and the second guiding surface and/or a surface roughness.
Abstract:
A set of floor panels for forming a floor covering, which comprises at least two floor panels, which each comprise an edge provided with a coupling part, wherein the coupling parts are configured such that they allow realizing a coupled condition between the floor panels, by means of a substantially straight-lined coupling movement of the one floor panel in respect to the other floor panel, according to a direction substantially perpendicular to an installation plane; and wherein the coupling parts are configured such that they, in the coupled condition, realize a tensioning force pressing the coupled edges towards each other.
Abstract:
A panel 10 is formed with first and second joint systems 20 and 22 to enable engagement of a plurality of panels 10 along their sides 16 and 18. The first joint system 20 has a laterally extending tongue 24a along one longitudinal side 16a and a groove 24b along an opposite longitudinal side 16b. The second joint system 22 is a vertical joint system having mutually engageable male and female parts Jm and Jf respectively. The male part Jm is formed on one transverse the side 18a, while the female part Jf is formed on an opposite transverse side 18b.
Abstract:
A floor panel has a substrate and a decorative layer of wood veneer having a thickness of 1 millimeter or less provided on the substrate. The substrate has an average density of more than 750 kilograms per cubic meter. The decorative layer is provided on the substrate by means of a layer on the basis of thermosetting resin situated between the substrate and the decorative layer. A method for manufacturing such floor panels including a structured veneer surface that can be obtained according to the arrangement of the aforementioned floor panel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a floor panel (1) comprising: male coupling means (2) and female coupling means (3) that are formed by at least one proximal groove (4, 6) that opens onto a lower face or upper face, respectively, of the panel (1) and by a distal flexible tongue (5, 7) that extends from the end of the edge of the panel (1) towards the lower face or upper face, respectively, of said panel (1); the tongue (5, 7) has a proximal wall inclined at an angle (β, α) with respect to a vertical plane towards the bottom and the outside of the panel (1) and towards the top and the outside of the panel (1), respectively; the tongue (5, 7) of at least one of the male coupling means (2) or female coupling means (3) has a distal wall comprising, at least, a protrusion (11) or a notch (15) that is able to engage with a notch (12) or a protrusion (16) formed in or on a proximal wall of the proximal groove (6, 4) of the corresponding female coupling means (3) or male coupling means (2) so as to form an end stop, avoiding vertical movement of a panel (1) with respect to an adjacent panel. According to the invention , the flexible tongue (7) of the female coupling means (3) comprises a chamfered part (13) that forms an angle of between 2° and 20° with respect to the main plane of the panel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a panel, in particular a floor panel having first and second complementary locking mechanisms on opposite pairs of edges for interconnecting similar panels for forming a covering by angling the panels along one edge and vertically locking them along a second edge. The invention also relates to a covering consisting of mutually connected floor panels according to the invention. The invention further relates to a method of assembling multiple floor panels for forming a covering.
Abstract:
Floor covering, consisting of floor elements, which, at least at two opposite sides, comprise a male and a female coupling part (9-10), which allow that two of such floor elements (1) can be interconnected at the respective sides (7-8) at the respective sides (7-8) by pushing one of these floor elements (1) with the associated male coupling part (9), by means of a downward movement (15), home into the female coupling part (10) of the other floor element (1), characterized in that at least one of said coupling parts, either the male coupling part (9) or the female coupling part (10), is made as least partially in a filled synthetic material composite, such as extruded wood.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a locking system for mechanical joining of floorboards (1) constructed from a body (30), a rear balancing layer (34), and an upper surface layer (32). A strip (6), which is integrally formed with the body (30) of the floorboard and which projects from a joint plane (F) and under an adjoining board (1), has a locking element (8) which engages a locking groove (14) in the rear side of the adjoining board. The joint edge provided with the strip (6) is modified with respect to the balancing layer (34), for example by means of machining of the balancing layer under the strip (6), in order to prevent deflection of the strip (6) caused by changes in relative humidity. The invention also relates to a floorboard provided with such a locking system, as well as a method for making floorboards with such a locking system.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a floor covering consisting of hard panels (2) which are provided, at least on two opposite edges (3-4, 5-6), with coupling means (7) made in one piece with the panels (2), whereby these coupling means (7) provide for an interlocking in a direction (R1) perpendicular to the plane of the floor covering (1), as well as in a direction (R2) perpendicular to the edges (3-4, 5-6) concerned and parallel to the plane of the floor covering (1). These coupling means (7) comprise a tongue (8) and a groove (9). The lip (11) which is situated on the bottom side of the groove (9) is longer than the lip (10) on the top side. The edge (5) which is provided with the tongue (8) is made flexible.
