Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a system of complex manifolds and valves containing a great amount of compressed gas. SOLUTION: A gas storage system 11 is formed of a continuous pipe 10, the continuous pipe is wound in plural layers, and each layer has plural loops. The pipe is provided within a container 12, and the container serves as a carousel for winding the pipe and as a gas containment device. When containers, each containing a continuous pipe, are stacked upon each other, the weight of upper containers is born by walls 16, 18 of lower containers, thus preventing lower layers of pipe from suffering stresses due to crushing by upper layers. A method of transporting gas includes obtaining a supply of gas at a gas supply point remote from a gas distributing facility, injecting the gas into a continuous pipe bent to form plural layers, each layer including plural loops, transporting the continuous pipe along with the gas to the gas distributing facility by a ship, and discharging the gas. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the atmosphere from invading in a freezer sleeve at the time of clearing work of the freezer of a cryogenic system. SOLUTION: The cryogenic system is provided with a container 2 wherein a refrigeration body 3 is immersed into a liquid refrigerant 4, a cylindrical freezer sleeve 7, and a freezer 8 inserted in the freezer sleeve 7 for recondensing the refrigerant gas produced from a refrigerant 4. The cryogenic system comprises a gas stream generation means 31 for making the purge gas stream which goes to the opening side of the freezer sleeve 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A system for storing natural gas comprises a plurality of straight sections of tube. The plurality of straight sections of tube are dense packed. The plurality of straight sections of tube are configured to fill a designated volume.
Abstract:
Device for storing and releasing fluids at nearly constant pressure, the fluids including a gas and a liquid, includes an assembly of substantially identical reservoirs (1), where the reservoirs include: a portion containing the gas (G) and a portion containing the liquid (L), an element (23) of separation between the gas and the liquid in the reservoir (1), an inlet orifice (36) and an outlet orifice (36) for the gas, an inlet orifice (35) and an outlet orifice (35) for the liquid. The reservoirs (1) have a cylindrical outer envelope (100) made up of at least one metal tube (101) of the type of those used for gas pipelines and oil pipelines, for which: the external diameter is more than 32 inches (813 mm); and the ratio of the length thereof to the outer diameter thereof is greater than 8.
