As a result, a corona discharge can be generated by allowing an electric field to be concentrated at the fore distal end of the annular protecting portion (16).

Therefore, push liquid in the push liquid housing chamber 15 is led to the annular gap 21 by the communication path 22 so that the pressure in the annular gap 21 is approximately the same as that of the push liquid housing chamber 15 to prevent the paint from intruding into the annular gap 21 from a paint housing chamber 14. In addition, the pigment constituent of the paint can be kept always in a liquid state by the push liquid in the annular gap 21 even if the paint intrudes into the annular gap 21. The nozzle (22) is provided with first and second outlet openings (25, 26) to spurt a wash fluid toward the first and second wash fluid discharging passages (15, 20). Further, a check valve (27) is provided in the annular chamber (24) of the nozzle (22) to prevent a reverse flow of a wash fluid.
