An optical signal measurement system [1200] provides [1202] a tunable optical filter [402]. An unknown optical signal [628] is scanned [1204] through the tunable optical filter [402]. The wavelength and chromatic dispersion values of the unknown optical signal [628] scanned through the tunable optical filter [402] are measured [1206] by operating the tunable optical filter [402] in a scanning mode for at least one of OSA and PMD measurements, and in a stepping mode for CD measurements. The wavelength and the dispersion values in the unknown optical signal [628] are specified [1208].
Abstract:
A bandwidth meter apparatus and method for measuring the bandwidth of a spectrum of light emitted from a laser input to the bandwidth meter is disclosed which may comprise an optical bandwidth monitor providing a first output representative of a first parameter which is indicative of the bandwidth of the light emitted from the laser and a second output representative of a second parameter which is indicative of the bandwidth of the light emitted from the laser; and, an actual bandwidth calculation apparatus utilizing the first output and the second output as part of a multivariable equation employing predetermined calibration variables specific to the optical bandwidth monitor, to calculate an actual bandwidth parameter; the multivariable equation comprising a symmetry sensitive term.

Methods of treating, preventing and/or managing macular degeneration are disclosed. Specific embodiments encompass the administration of a selective cytokine inhibitory drug, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, hydrate, stereoisomer, clathrate, or prodrug thereof, alone or in combination with a second active agent and/or surgery. Pharmaceutical compositions, single unit dosage forms, and kits suitable for use in methods of the invention are also disclosed.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide controllable Fabry-Perot interferometers which are produced with micromechanical (MEMS) technology.SOLUTION: An interferometer arrangement has both an electrically tunable interferometer 101-105, 111-115 and a reference interferometer 121-125, 131-135 on the same substrate 100. A temperature drift is measured with the reference interferometer, and this information is used for compensating the measurement with the tunable interferometer.
