Abstract: The invention relates to monitoring a water-in-oil emulsion wherein oil is in continuous phase and water is in dispersion phase. The invention consists in exposing the emulsion flowing through a first section of a pipe to an electromagnetic field in a microwave resonator (2) and explosing the emulsion flowing through a second test section of the pipe, to an electromagnetic field of a frequency markedly lower than the microwave frequency in a second reseonator (7). The dielectric loss of the emulsion is measured in both resonators. The results of the measurements are transmitted to a computer control device wherein the water content and the droplet size are determined.

Abstract: A coupling arrangement for use in subsea electrical power distribution comprises a first coupling part, which is provided with a first contact member 3a arranged in a first contact housing 2a, and a second coupling part, which is provided with a second contact member 3b arranged in a second contact housing 2b. The coupling arrangement may further be provided with means for pumping sea water out of the cavity formed by the two housings and pumping in dielectric fluid.

Abstract: Subsea wells are drilled and completed with an offshore floating platform in a manner that allows simultaneous work on more than one well. A first well is drilled and casing. Then a tubing hanger is run through a drilling riser and landed in the wellhead housing. Then, with the same floating platform, the drilling riser is disconnected and moved to a second well. While performing operations on the second well, the operator lowers a production tree from the floating platform on a lift line, and connects it to the first wellhead housing. An ROV assisted subsea plug removal tool is used for plug removal and setting operations required through the production tree.
