A gasoline tank or like container is fastened to a vehicle, say to the lower surface of a floor-board, by means of yielding straps whose ends of which are secured to the floor-board or like support and engage in grooves formed in the side walls and bottom of the container in parallel vertical planes. The grooves form ribs along the inner surface of the container so as to partition partly the inside of the latter and have a depth which, measured vertically, decreases across the bottom of the container from the side wall towards the center of its bottom.

A suspension for a vehicle, which suspension includes a pendulum member upon which the wheel of the vehicle is mounted and which, in turn, is connected to a vertically oscillating suspension element on a pivot arranged transversely lower than the axis of the wheel. A stop is provided between the suspension element and the pendulum member to limit angular displacement of the pendulum member about its pivot, the stop being elastic in character and comprised of a material having elastic properties with the pivot of the suspension element being arranged on the inside of the bearing comprised by the elastic stop.
Abstract:
A control device for a suspension such as a hydropneumatic suspension for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The device includes three actuators (E1, E2, E3) capable of supplying a liquid to or removing a liquid from three independent suspension lines, wherein said actuators are driven by a computer (18) in accordance with a predetermined principle. This principle takes into consideration the position of the car body as well as first, second and third derivatives with respect to time of the parameters representative of the position. The invention is useful for motor vehicles.

Mechanically controlled power transmission device comprising a rotary engine driving, through a lever (3) and a clevis, (5), a hydraulic slide valve (1) which consists, in a known manner, of a rod (6) sliding in a hole (7) and includes blocks (P1, P2) capable of selectively establishing communication between firstly a user device (U) and secondly a high pressure source (H) or an outlet (E). Two springs (R1, R2) act on the slide valve in opposite directions, return the latter, in the event of a breakdown, into a neutral position which is preferably a position in which no communication is established. The device of the invention is for use in the motor car industry.
Abstract:
This invention concerns an improved automatic installation for transferring and forging any metal components. It essentially comprises a forging press (P) fitted with a plurality of stamping devices, a robot (6) fitted with an arm (7) for fetching a billet or blank to the press and two opposite robots (8, 9) arranged facing two opposite sides of the press (P), each equipped with a transfer arm (8a, 9a) having a plurality of component handling devices (10 to 17) and a plurality of spraying ramps (18) for the stamping devices (1, 2, 3, 4). This installation makes it possible to produce at a fast rate any components for the automobile industry, like crankshafts.

In a known manner, such a system comprises a piston (4) integral with the stem (3) of a valve (1) and sliding in a cylinder (5), the piston (4), the valve stem (3) and the cylinder (5) defining a chamber (6) which contains a compressible fluid. According to the invention, the chamber (6) is connected through a single calibrating hole (8) to a system for oil discharge and fluid pressure regulation located externally to the cylinder head. Application to the motor vehicle industry.

The invention relates to an opening element of a motor vehicle body comprising particularly a panel consisting of a metal part and a plastic part, presenting stiffening ribs moulded on the metal part. According to the invention, the metal part (1) and the plastic part made of composite material (2) form an internal structure element (16) of the panel, the outer panel (24) being joined to the internal structure element (16), and the metal part (1) presents a U-shaped cross-section ring inside which are moulded the ribs (6) of the plastic part (2), said ribs being internal by anchoring points provided on the metal part.
Abstract:
A clip device for fastening an element to a sheet metal portion of a motor vehicle, and a method for making same, are disclosed. The clip device includes a flap (3) directly cut out of the sheet metal of said vehicle portion (1) and suitably shaped depending on the element (2) to be supported. Said device is useful in the field of motor vehicles.
