Abstract: A connector assembly includes, a connector-body, a dress-cover, a strain-relief-device, and a housing. The a connector-body retains electrical-terminals connected to cables enclosed in conduit. The dress-cover is attached to the connector-body and routes the cables. The dress-cover has sides and a base that receive the connector-body. The strain-relief-device is attached to the dress-cover. The strain-relief-device has a close-out panel having opposed side-edges, a top-edge and a bottom-edge. The housing has walls and a bottom configured to receive the connector-body, the dress-cover, and the strain-relief-device. The walls define a slot, and the connector-body, dress-cover, and a portion of the strain-relief-device are disposed within the slot. The walls have opposing-channels on a first-side and a second-side of the slot and terminate at the stops. The opposing-channels slideably engage the opposed side-edges. The bottom-edge engages the stops when the connector-body, the dress-cover and the portion of the strain-relief-device are disposed within the slot.

Abstract: A cable assembly includes a cable, a connector-body, a cable-seal, and a retainer. The connector-body is attached to the cable. The cable-seal is disposed within the connector-body and surrounds the cable. The cable-seal is configured to inhibit entry of a contaminant into the connector-body. The retainer is in direct contact with the cable, the connector-body and the cable-seal. The retainer is configured to retain the cable-seal within the connector-body. The retainer is configured to be installed onto the cable and is attached to the connector-body. The retainer contains cable-clamps mounted to a pair of opposed inclined-surfaces located on an inner-surface of the retainer. The cable-clamps include inclined-ramps configured to engage the inclined-surfaces. The inclined-ramps move along the inclined-surfaces, thereby causing the cable-clamps to impart a radial-force normal to the cable when the retainer is attached to the connector-body.

Abstract: A positioning system includes a forward-viewing camera, a ranging-sensor, and one or more controller-circuits. The forward-viewing camera detects lane-markings on a roadway ahead of a host-vehicle traveling in a travel-lane. The ranging-sensor detects a position of an other-vehicle traveling on the roadway behind the host-vehicle. The one or more controller-circuits are in communication with the forward-viewing camera and the ranging-sensor. The one or more controller-circuits determine lane-widths characterized by pairs of opposed control-points at a first-distance ahead of the host-vehicle, track relative-positions of the control-points while the host-vehicle is traveling along the roadway, determine a rear-side road-model based on a temporal-history of the relative-positions of the control-points, determine a lateral-offset of the other-vehicle based on the rear-side road-model, and operate the host-vehicle in accordance with the lateral-offset.

Abstract: A system for operating an automated-taxi includes a perception-sensor, a communication-device, and a controller-circuit. The perception-sensor is operable to determine a location of an object aboard an automated-taxi. The communication-device is operable to communicate with a client of the automated-taxi. The controller-circuit is in communication with the perception-sensor and the communication-device. The controller-circuit is configured to determine that the location of the object is not in compliance with an operational-requirement of the automated-taxi based on signals or information from the perception-sensor, and operate the communication-device to send a message that indicates the client will be charged a fee for failing to re-locate the object so that the location of the object is in compliance with the operational-requirement of the automated-taxi.

Abstract: A transportation system for operating an automated-taxi includes a power-connection and a controller-circuit. The power-connection is used to establish an electrical-connection between an automated-taxi and a charged-battery that was brought to the automated-taxi by a client of the automated-taxi. The charged-battery provides electrical-energy to propel the automated-taxi while connected. The controller-circuit is in communication with the power-connection. The controller-circuit is configured to assess a fee for transporting the client to a destination by the automated-taxi. The fee is determined in accordance with an energy-value drawn from the charged-battery while the client is being transported.

Abstract: A method of forming a shielded electrical terminal configured to receive a corresponding shielded electrical terminal. The terminal includes an inner shield defining a shield cavity about a longitudinal axis. The shield cavity is configured to receive the corresponding shielded electrical terminal. The inner shield has a longitudinal inner seam substantially that is parallel to the longitudinal axis. The inner shield defines a plurality of resilient contact springs that protrude into the shield cavity. The contact springs are configured to contact the corresponding shielded electrical terminal. The terminal also includes an outer shield integrally formed with the inner shield and covering at least a portion of the inner shield. The terminal formed by this method is also presented.

Abstract: A positioning system includes a positioning-device, a second-transceiver, and one or more controller-circuits. The positioning-device determines a position of a vehicle moving proximate a power-transfer-zone. The positioning-device includes a first-transceiver transmitting signals indicative of the position relative to the power-transfer-zone. The second-transceiver is installed on the vehicle and receives the signals from the first-transceiver. The one or more controller-circuits are in communication with the positioning-device, the first-transceiver, the second-transceiver, and the vehicle. The positioning-device associates with the vehicle when the second-transceiver is within a sensing-range of the first-transceiver thereby directing the vehicle into the power-transfer-zone.
