In order to measure distances precisely, a receiver device for determining a distance from an object is proposed, comprising: a receiver having a semiconductor structure with a photosensitive region for generating photo-induced charge carriers, which region faces the rear side, and having a transportation region, which faces the front side, wherein the photosensitive region and the transportation region are spatially separated from one another by a separation layer which has a passage between the photosensitive region and the transportation region, wherein the transportation region has an arrangement of at least two gates lying one next to the other, at least one of the gates thereof being located in the overlapping region of the passage.

The present disclosure relates to a time-of-flight distance measuring device. The light source (24) includes a plurality of emitting portions (70, 72), each of which illuminates a respective one of the sub-regions (R1, R2). The light receiver (26) includes a plurality of receiving portions (74, 76) corresponding to respective ones of the emitting portions (70, 72). The first controller (28) controls (i) a first emitting portion (70) to emit the emitted light including an N th -order harmonic component of a fundamental frequency and (ii) a second emitting portion (72) to emit the emitted light including an M th -order harmonic component. The second controller (30) controls a particular receiving portion (74) corresponding to the first emitting portion (70) to be sensible to the N th -order M th -order harmonic components. The multipath detector (82) detects occurrence of the multipath error when the particular receiving portion (74) senses both the N th -order and M th -order components.

A charge transfer device having a charge transfer channel in a semiconductor substrate. The charge transfer channel is formed by overlap of the possible electrostatic effect of the gates with the conduction layer. A clock generator has a clock frequency of more than 100 MHz which applies changes in potential at the clock frequency to the gates, for transporting charge carriers at the clock frequency from adjacent regions of the overlap between adjacent gates and the conduction layer. The charge transfer channel has an influx region which, in the flow direction, is arranged at a lateral outer boundary of the charge transfer channel and which at least partly extends over the regions of exactly two adjacent gates of the charge transfer channel in order to supply charge carriers to the charge transfer channel from a region outside the charge transfer channel that adjoins the influx region from a second charge transfer channel.

A rotary encoder system for registering the rotary angle position and/or angular speed of a rotary shaft which extends along an axis of rotation, including at least two optical marks at the rotary shaft, an optical sensor with a pixel matrix having pixel points, an imaging device for imaging each mark in a substantially axial direction on the pixel matrix as a mark image, and an evaluation device for reading and evaluating the pixel matrix in order to determine data in relation to the rotary angle position and/or angular speed. Further, the marks, the imaging device and pixel points are embodied in such a way that the mark images on the pixel matrix have at least the area of a pixel point, and the evaluation device is embodied to establish the location of the centroids of the mark images on the pixel matrix.
