Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a syringe for mixing two substances which have been retained separately inside the syringe, for instance in a storage condition. In particular the present disclosure relates to a syringe for 1) retaining a dry composition in a vacuum, and 2)mixing the dry composition with an aqueous medium to form a flowable substance. One embodiment relates to a syringe for retaining and mixing first and second substances comprising: a barrel comprising a sealable and/or closable distal outlet and a vacuum chamber for holding a first substance, a plunger incorporating a reservoir chamber for holding a second substance and configured to be axially displaced through a proximal end of the barrel, a membrane separating the vacuum chamber and the reservoir chamber, and a pointed member, such as one or more needles, for penetrating the membrane.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method for vacuum expansion of a paste prior to freeze-drying said paste to achieve a dry paste composition which reconstitutes efficiently to form a flowable paste upon addition of an aqueous medium. The present disclosure further relates to a syringe for retaining a dry paste composition in a vacuum.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a container adapted to dispense its content under pressure. The container of the present invention consists of two separate compartments separated from one another by a slidable piston. The container of the present invention contains a haemostatic paste.
Abstract:
The invention regards an applicator tube for delivering a paste from a syringe, comprising: a delivery tube comprising a distal end for delivering the paste, and a valve system attached to a proximal end of the delivery tube and configured for attachment to the syringe, the valve system having a first configuration allowing aspiration of gas from the surroundings, and a second configuration allowing expression of aspirated gas into the delivery tube, such that the applicator tube is configured for transporting a volume of aspirated gas into and through the delivery tube when an attached syringe is aspirated and expressed.
Abstract:
The invention regards a device for reconstituting a bioactive agent and forming a paste, the device comprising: - a container (2) containing the bioactive agent, - a first syringe (4) containing a liquid, - a second syringe (5) containing a paste forming material, - a connector element (6) configured for establishing sequential fluid connections between 1) the first syringe and the container, 2) the container and the second syringe, and 3) the first and second syringes, such that the liquid can be transferred from the first syringe to the container to reconstitute the bioactive agent, whereupon the reconstituted bioactive agent can be transferred from the container into the second syringe to form a paste, and the paste can be transferred to the first syringe.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to administration of fluid medication, in particular medication and dosing regimen for management of pain, more specifically to an anesthetic and dosing regimen for anesthetic for perioperative pain management and/or for palliative care. The present disclosure relates further to a medication pump and a method for delivering medication using the medication pump.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dry composition, which upon addition of an aqueous medium forms a substantially homogenous paste suitable for use in haemostasis procedures. The paste forms spontaneously upon addition of the liquid, hence no mechanical mixing is required for said paste to form. The invention further relates to methods of preparing said dry composition, a paste made from said dry composition and use of said paste for medical and surgical purposes.
Abstract:
An applicator device for applying an agent to a target site with a malleable tip that can be cut to length with a pair of nursing dressing scissors or similar type of scissors and a malleable tip with a formable tube that that can be cut to length with a pair of nursing dressing scissors or similar type of scissors. The malleable tip is configured for passage of fluid theretrough and includes a malleable member. The malleable member is made of a soft metal that is strong enough to retain the shape of the tip after is has been bend into configuration, but soft and weak enough to be easily cut with a pair of nursing dressing scissors or the like. A method for preparing an applicator device that is suitable for applying an agent to a target site during or before an operation, comprising providing an applicator device with a formable tip, forming said tip to a desired configuration and cutting said formable tip to a desired length with a pair of nursing dressing scissors or similar type of scissors.
Abstract:
A device for reconstituting a bioactive agent and forming a flowable paste is described. The device comprises a base configured for receiving: a first container containing a liquid, and a second container containing the bioactive agent, a syringe containing a paste forming material, the syringe being attachable to the base, wherein the base has a first conduit for fluidly connecting the first container with the second container and a second conduit for fluidly connecting the second container with the syringe, and wherein the first container is configured to be pressurizable such that when the first and second containers are received at the base, the liquid is forced through the first conduit into the second container, thereby reconstituting the bioactive agent, and the reconstituted bioactive agent is forced through the second conduit into the syringe, such that a paste is formed.
