    Abstract: A closing device for doors, preferably refrigerator or freezer doors, is provided with a lockable closing loop mounted rotatably on a fixed wall part, in order to provide the closing device for doors with a closing loop which, with a force ensuring a good closing position, keeps the door in this, this closing force offering easily overcome resistance during the opening of the door, a curved cam piece (7) being connected to the closing rocker (3) in the region of the pivot axis (2) of the latter. A cam (8) arranged on a pivotably mounted and spring-loaded lever (9) is supported on the radial circumferential surface, curved around the pivot axis (2), of the curved cam piece (7). The curved cam piece (7) has, in the region of the closing position, a descending flank (11) with a decreasing radial distance from the pivot axis (2), on which flank the cam (8) is supported. There adjoins the flank (11) a curved piece (10) which corresponds to the opening range of the door and on which the direction of the force transmitted by the cam (8) runs approximately through the pivot axis (2).
