Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pilot vector correlator for a spread spectrum communication system. SOLUTION: The pilot vector correlator is provided with a local pilot code sequence generating means for generating a local code sequence, in which a pilot spread code sequence is code-phase shifted, a pilot spread code correlator provided with a multiplier for correlating the local code sequence with a spread signal and generating a correlated pilot signal value, by multiplying the spread signal with the local code sequence and an accumulator for accumulating the correlated signal to generate despread multipath pilot signal components, a filter means having a built-in low-pass filter for generating a multipath signal weighting value, corresponding to the carrier signal phase value of reception multipath signal components upon receiving the despread multipath pilot signal components, a complex multiplying means for multiplying the multipath pilot signal components by a weighted value, and a combining means for generating a pilot data value by combining the phase-rotated pilot signal. Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reference transport channel (TrCH) selection includes tracking characteristics on each of a TrCH. Whether or not any TrCHs meet a predetermined criteria is determined. A reference TrCH is selected based upon the determination of TrCHs that meet the predetermined criteria.
Abstract:
A communications device includes an antenna array comprising antenna elements for receiving at least N spatially independent signals, and a receiver coupled to the antenna array. The receiver includes an analog receiver circuit for receiving the N spatially independent signals, and has a bandwidth of at least N times an information bandwidth of the spatially independent signals. The receiver further includes a digital receiver circuit coupled to the analog receiver circuit, and samples the N spatially independent signals at a rate of at least N times a Nyquist rate which would have been required if a single antenna element had been used to receive the signals. A processor is coupled to the digital receiver circuit for demultiplexing the sampled N spatially independent signals.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided for efficient transmission of low-data-rate packet services in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mode of operations in the presence of high-data-rate packet services. Precoding weight information (PWI) is signaled implicitly to a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU). A precoding weight vector is signaled in a high speed shared control channel less (HS-SCCH-less) transmission using a new HS-SCCH type P. This explicit PWI signaling approach transmits the PWI with minimum power overhead. The data carried in the HS-SCCH type P is encoded to minimize the required transmitted power. A channel type HS-SCCH type 2M is also described.
Abstract:
A mesh network including at least one channel master (CM) and a plurality of mesh points (MPs). The CM sends a channel change intention message to at least one of the MPs indicating the CM's intention to change from a first channel to a second channel. Upon reception of the channel change intention message, the at least one MP determines whether to switch from the first channel to the second channel. The at least one MP sends a channel change response message to the CM. The CM then determines whether to change from the first channel to the second channel based on the channel change response message. The channel change intention message may indicate a change of mode, a change of bandwidth or a change of a number of channels. The channel change intention message may indicate the timing of the channel change.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for constructing a perfectly secret key within a group of nodes. In a group of m nodes, pair-wise secret keys are assigned. Based on pair-wise secret keys, these m nodes generate a group- wise perfectly secret key. In a preferred embodiment, each node communicates with every other node through public noiseless broadcasts.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for cell access restriction, wherein a new access class (AC) definition including a WTRU barred-bit assignment is assigned during cell subscription. A cell access restriction information element (IE) is then broadcast when an operator is restricting access to a cell. The WTRU then can determine whether a cell is restricted based on a comparison of the cell access restriction IE to the barred-bit definition. A base station (BS) is able to transmit the new cell access restriction IE in a fast-read master information block (MIB).

A method and apparatus for constraining power amplifier (PA) imbalance includes using a constant modulus (CM) criterion to ensure PA balance whe using differential feedback. An approach of combined differential and non- differential feedback is considered.

Media Independent Handover (MIH) messages are mapped into DIAMETER messages and communicated with peer MIH entities using DIAMETER. Local MIH messages may also be communicated using DIAMETER. In one embodiment, IEEE 802.21 MIH messages are mapped into DIAMETER messages. IEEE 802.21 information elements (IEs) are transported over DIAMETER as attribute value pairs (AVPs). New DIAMETER Command Codes and Command flags may be defined to indicate message type. Secure IP based transport and discovery and capability negotiation may be performed using MIH over DIAMETER.
