Abstract:
A composition for use in grips is disclosed. The composition may be used, for example, in making a golf club grip. The disclosed grip provides for improved shock absorption and other beneficial properties. In one embodiment the comprises a cross-linked composition of from about 40% by weight to about 80% by weight of one or a combination of a first material selected from the group consisting of butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, ethylene propylene rubber and chloroprene rubber, and from about 10% by weight to about 50% by weight of one or a combination of a second material selected from the group consisting of ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer (EPDM), polyurethane, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polypropylene and cork.
Abstract:
The method and system of the present invention permits a physician to transmit images captured by an imaging device such as an endoscope or fluoroscope and associated data to a remote viewer in real time.A method and system for transmitting medical imaging and associated data to a remote user begins with capturing a still or moving image (video stream) with a camera attached to a medical imaging device such as an endoscope or images generated by a fluoroscope. Such images are forwarded to and processed by a video capture device. Image related data (images data stream) is simultaneously forwarded through an in-line, one way, filter to the video capture device while the video stream is also forwarded to the video capture device. The video and data streams are then forwarded to a data assimilating component comprising a server capable of synchronizing, compressing, and combining the streams into a compressed combined stream. This compressed combined stream is forwarded to a remote user. The remote user, upon credentialing and formatting, accesses and views the properly formatted combined data stream on a remote video display device or mobile device. Said remote user may view, simultaneously, and in real time, a plurality of image and data transmissions, such as endoscopic related information, fluoroscopic information and associated data with the use of multiple screens and/or a split screens.
Abstract:
An electronic device (10) such as a mobile phone, a cellular phone, a two-way radio, a laptop computer, a portable stereo receiver, a portable television, or any combination thereof can include a cover such as a battery door cover (14) having a predetermined thickness and an aperture (16) within the battery door cover serving as an audio port for the electronic device and further constructed to serve as a bottle cap opener. The aperture can be for a high audio port (11) on a speaker phone for example. The aperture can be formed substantially towards an end portion of the battery door cover. The battery door cover can also be made of a rigid material such as plastic, metal or carbon fiber composite and can further include a sharp edge (17) to serve as a cutting instrument. Optionally, the battery door can further include a retractable or removable blade (19).
Abstract:
The invention refers to a system for producing three-dimensional figures with different shapes, including irregular and/or asymmetric figures, as from flexible sheet materials, consisting in supplying a sheet piece having a major segment or body, as well as at least one tab created unitary to the body, at least one slot disposed in the body and at least one point of inflection, so that it bends or folds the sheet piece at the point of inflection and passes the tab through the slot, causing the desired effect of bulkiness, depression or different plane and providing volume to the sheet piece and therefore the creation of a three-dimensional figure. The system of the invention has several applications, such as in toys, promotional goods, decorative figures, educational material, etc.
Abstract:
A roof flashing for sealing an opening in a roof through which an upstanding pipe extends includes a base member having an opening for passage of the pipe and a collar attached to the base member surrounding the opening in the base member for receipt of the pipe when the base member is attached to the roof. The collar has corrugations which permit the collar to be expanded and compressed to different lengths to accommodate different length pipes within the collar. The corrugations at the outer end of the collar are flattened out to facilitate folding of the outer end over an upper end of the pipe to form a watertight seal between the collar and pipe.
Abstract:
Spontaneous and undesired electroendosmosis in a capillary during an electrophoretic separation procedure is suppressed by the inclusion of a viscosity-raising additive in one or both of the electrode chamber solutions. The additive is either a viscous water-soluble polymer, a hydrophilic gel, or a combination of the two.
Abstract:
An apparatus, computer-readable medium, and computer-implemented method for integrating and sharing patient-related information among members of a medical team in real-time via an authenticated Application Programming Interface (API), includes receiving preliminary patient data corresponding to the patient from a first member of a medical team comprising a plurality of members, the preliminary patient data being received via the authenticated API, generating a patient profile for the patient, the patient profile being accessible to each member of the medical team via the authenticated API, receiving input relating to the patient from a second member of the medical team, the input being received via the authenticated API, and updating the patient profile based at least in part on the received input, with each of the plurality of members of the medical team being able to access the updated patient profile via the authenticated API.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a viral vector comprising a mutated replicon of the Semliki Forest virus (SFV) in the nucleotide sequence encoding subunit nsp2 of the SFV replicase. Said viral vector can be used to generate stable cell lines which can constitutively express heterologous products of interest.
