    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to systems for use in screening at least one binding agent for binding to at least one cell membrane protein. The systems include one or more cells that include the cell membrane protein. The cell membrane protein is genetically engineered to express a first peptide capable of generating a luminescent signal upon interaction with a second peptide. The systems may also include the second peptide. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of utilizing the systems to screen at least one binding agent for binding to at least one cell membrane protein.

    Abstract: A method removing artifacts from neural signals comprises receiving electroencephalography (EEG) data from an EEG system and providing the EEG data to a unified artifact removal framework for cleaning artifacts. The EEG data is provided to a first cleaning framework utilizing the first reference to clean first artifacts from the EEG data, and the outputting the EEG data from the first cleaning framework to a second cleaning framework. The second cleaning framework may operate in a similar manner utilizing second reference to clean second artifacts from the EEG data. This general process may be repeated as desired to clean various artifacts from EEG data, when a suitable reference for the artifacts to be removed is utilized. The frameworks utilize H∞ method or filtering involving a H∞ adapting rule to properly weigh the reference, and combining the subsequent output with incoming EEG data results in the desired removal of artifacts.

    Abstract: A round superconductor wire and method for fabricating same are disclosed. Embodiments are directed to a round superconductor wire including at least two superconductor tapes wound on a wire former. Each superconductor tape includes: bottom stabilizer and silver layers; substrate disposed above the bottom silver layer; buffer film stack disposed above the substrate; superconductor film disposed above the buffer film stack; top silver layer disposed above the superconductor film; and top stabilizer layer disposed above the top silver layer. At least one of the bottom stabilizer layer, bottom silver layer, substrate, buffer film stack, superconductor film, top silver layer, or top stabilizer layer is of a different width, thickness, or material composition in one of the superconductor tapes than in another of the superconductor tapes. These and other embodiments achieve a round superconductor wire having improved current density in high magnetic field applications when made in small diameters.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a bifunctional electrocatalyst for overall water splitting comprising oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) by growing electrocatalyst comprising primarily metallic phosphides on a three-dimensional substrate by: immersing the substrate in an iron nitrate solution to form a once disposed substrate; subjecting the once disposed substrate to thermal phosphidation with phosphorus powder under inert gas to grow metal phosphides thereupon and form a once subjected substrate; cooling the once subjected substrate to form a cooled, once subjected substrate; immersing the cooled, once subjected substrate in an iron nitrate solution to form a twice disposed substrate; and subjecting the twice disposed substrate to thermal phosphidation with phosphorus powder under inert gas to provide an electrode comprising the bifunctional electrocatalyst on the three-dimensional substrate.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to formulations for cancer treatment that include a particle loaded with diethylstilbestrol (DES) and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The pharmaceutically acceptable carrier may also be loaded into the particle. The formulations may also include a stabilizer that is also loaded into the particle. The particles may be dispersed in an aqueous solution to form a nanosuspension that is adapted for subcutaneous administration and sustained release of DES. Additional embodiments pertain to methods of treating cancer in a subject by administering to the subject a formulation of the present disclosure. The subject may be a human suffering from prostate cancer. The administration of the formulations to the subject may bypass or minimize first pass metabolism. The administration may also minimize hepatic exposure of DES. Additional embodiments pertain to methods of making the formulations of the present disclosure by loading a particle with DES.
