Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for processing information on a computer. In one embodiment, a method is performed by a computer for processing data that is available on the computer. The method processes the data in an ordered fashion, encounters within the data an identification of extra data that is not presently available on the computer, substitutes proxy data in place of the extra data, and processes the proxy data, as though the proxy data were the extra data

Abstract:
An optical disc (102) having a search file (224) indicating languages associated with scenes, and methods associated therewith. In some embodiments, the optical disc is configured to store content (204) and a search file (224). The content is playable by an optical disc player. The search file comprises data associated with scenes in the playable content. For a given scene, the data indicates a language associated with that scene.
Abstract:
A data processing system includes a file system manager that organizes content into albums using a tagging technique. The file system manager comprises a filename utility that sets a unique filename for each file of uploaded files across a plurality of albums and an album manager utility that manages an album according to a list of tags. The tags include unique content file references and content metadata, whereby a file instance in a cross-section of the tags is included in multiple albums.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a picture coding apparatus which can reduce a load in decoding. When a RAU to be coded is an open GOP type RAU, the present invention includes: a motion estimation unit (401), a motion compensation unit (402), and the like which codes a picture to be coded to generate a BI-picture; a BI information generation unit (413) which generates a RAU map (MIa) indicating whether or not the BI-picture is positioned in a display order immediately before a starting I-picture in the RAU of the stream (STR); and a variable length coding unit (411) which writes the RAU map (MIa) into the RAU of the stream (STR).

Abstract:
A method for audio and visual content download and playback includes downloading a clip that includes audio and visual content from a web site. It is contemplated the clip has been segmented into a plurality of smaller clips. The method continues with storing the metadata for the plurality of smaller clips in a local storage and initiating playback of the plurality of smaller clips. The method also includes displaying the content of a first of the plurality of smaller clips while a second of the plurality of smaller clips is being downloaded.
Abstract:
Methods and systems of managing accounts by a network server. At least some of the illustrative embodiments are network server devices (20) comprising a processor (24), and a non-volatile storage device (48) coupled to the processor (24). The network server device (20) does not support a directly coupled display device. The processor (24) receives account information (404) regarding existing user accounts on a computer system (10, 16) within the network (100), and the processor (24) performs account management (408) on the network server device (20) using the account information received.
Abstract:
Methods of retrieving information from a master optical disc (408) comprising; retrieving a data structure from a slave optical disc (402) ; using the information from the master optical disc to modify the data structure (412) ; and playing content from the slave optical disc (402) in accordance with the modified data structure (420) .
