Abstract:
A system for distributing multimedia files (312) using a media server (112) and corresponding method thereof are described. The system comprises a processing device (302); a network interface (306); and a storage device (310). The storage device (310) comprises: a set of multimedia files (312); and a set of executable instructions (314) which cause the processing device (302) to receive a multimedia file (312); update a website to comprise the received multimedia file (312) for distribution to a web client in response to receipt of the multimedia file (312); update a streaming content to comprise the received multimedia file (312) for distribution to a streaming client in response to receipt of the multimedia file (312); and respond to received requests for the received multimedia file (312).
Abstract:
A method and system for capturing digital content that is accessible at predetermined times from the Internet is herein disclosed. At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving data related to scheduled Internet content and providing at least a portion of the received Internet data as a schedule, the schedule including one or more content listings corresponding to the scheduled Internet content. Some embodiments include, in response to receiving a selection of at least one of the listings, scheduling a recording of the corresponding Internet content.
Abstract:
One embodiment of a gateway router is equipped to recognize a trustworthy local server automatically, and to accept certain incoming connections to a local server that the router has recognized as trustworthy.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a picture coding apparatus which can reduce a load in decoding. When a RAU to be coded is an open GOP type RAU, the present invention includes: a motion estimation unit (401), a motion compensation unit (402), and the like which codes a picture to be coded to generate a BI-picture; a BI information generation unit (413) which generates a RAU map (MIa) indicating whether or not the BI-picture is positioned in a display order immediately before a starting I-picture in the RAU of the stream (STR); and a variable length coding unit (411) which writes the RAU map (MIa) into the RAU of the stream (STR).
Abstract:
A data processing system includes a file system manager that organizes content into albums using a tagging technique. The file system manager comprises a filename utility that sets a unique filename for each file of uploaded files across a plurality of albums and an album manager utility that manages an album according to a list of tags. The tags include unique content file references and content metadata, whereby a file instance in a cross-section of the tags is included in multiple albums.
Abstract:
Methods and systems of verifying permission for a remote computer system to access a web page. At least some of the illustrative embodiments are methods comprising receiving (306) a request from a remote computer (10, 16, 102) to access a web page stored on a server (20), verifying (308, 312, 314, 316) permission of the remote computer to access the web page without the remote computer system (10, 16, 102) sending a user name and password, and granting (318) the remote computer (10, 16, 10) access to the web page if permission is verified.
Abstract:
A computer-readable medium (40) contains software (44) that, when executed by a processor (32), causes the processor to perform various actions. For example, as a result of a user-initiated event, the software causes the processor to automatically select at least one file from among a plurality of files (42) based on a policy, and to automatically transfer the selected at least one file across a network (25).
Abstract:
An optical disc (102) having a search file (224) indicating languages associated with scenes, and methods associated therewith. In some embodiments, the optical disc is configured to store content (204) and a search file (224). The content is playable by an optical disc player. The search file comprises data associated with scenes in the playable content. For a given scene, the data indicates a language associated with that scene.
Abstract:
One embodiment of a system for analyzing client file systems in accordance with the present disclosure comprises a backup repository storing backup data of file systems of client computers remote from the backup repository. The system further comprises a backup server that analyzes the file systems of the client computers using the backup data at the backup repository and reports a problem detected in a file system of a client computer to a user of the client computer.
Abstract:
A system is provided, the system having at least one client computer (202A-202N) and a server computer (230) coupled to the at least one client computer (202A-202N) via a network (220). The system also has a printer (250) coupled to the server computer (230) and shared by the at least one client computer (202A-202N). The printer (250) is perceived by each client computer (202A-202N) to be a local printer.
