Abstract: .beta.-picoline derivatives of the formula where A is CR1R2, R1 and R2 independently of each other are hydrogen, alky1, alkenyl or alkynyl, or R1 and R2 together form a methylene chain, B is one of the groups CH2, CHOR3, CHalR4, C=O or C=N-O-R5, R3 being hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, acyl, phenyl, benzyl or benzoyl, where the phenyl ring is substituted or unsubstituted, R4 being hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine, R5 being hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, phenyl or benzyl, the phenyl ring being substituted or unsubstituted, Ar is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl radical, their N-oxides and plant-tolerated acid addition salts, and fungicides containing these compounds.
