PURPOSE: A composition containing a Camellia sinensis leaf extract, a Camellia sinensis flower extract, and a Camellia sinensis seed extract as active ingredients is provided to activate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), to suppress fatty acid synthesis, and to promote fatty acid oxidation and glucose absorption, thereby preventing and treating metabolic syndrome. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating metabolic syndrome contains a Camellia sinensis leaf extract, a Camellia sinensis flower extract, and a Camellia sinensis seed extract as active ingredients, in a weight ratio of 4-12:0.3-4:0.3-4. The composition contains the Camellia sinensis leaf extract and the Camellia sinensis flower and seed extracts in a weight ratio of 4-12:0.2-8. The metabolic syndrome is a glucoside metabolic syndrome or a lipid metabolic syndrome.
