Abstract: A composition containing a Rehmannia glutimosa Libosch as an active ingredient is provided to have cell protection from UV, inhibition of apoptosis, and tyrosinase activation suppression. A composition of external skin preparation for antiaging, whitening or keratin removement comprises a Rehmannia gultimosa Libosch extract which has antioxidation effect as an active ingredient. The extract is obtained using water, low alcohol of C1-4 or its mixture solvent, hexane, butyleneglycol, propyleneglycol, glycerin, acetic acid ethyl, ether, and chloroform. The composition is used in a form of cream, gel, patch, spray, ointment, lotion, liniment, pasta or cataplasma. A cosmetic composition for anti-aging, whitening or keratin removement comprises the Rehmannia gultimosa Libosch extract.
