Abstract: PURPOSE: An air inhalation system for protecting an engine room is provided to reduce time and costs for maintenance and to sail a ship in polar or cold regions without using electricity. CONSTITUTION: An air inhalation system for protecting an engine room comprises an inhalation hole, a casing, an inhalation fan(120), and a protective cover(130). The inhalation hole is formed in outer circumference of an engine room. The casing provides a passage for inhaling outdoor air through the inhalation hole. The inhalation fan is installed inside the casing and generates blowing force for inhaling the outdoor air. The protective cover is installed in the casing to cover the inhalation hole and has an opening to connect with the inhalation hole.
