Abstract: PURPOSE: A video recording/reproducing device is provided to vary size and speed of a cursor according to a play time of a file while editing the recorded file, so that an editor can perceive the play time of the file and an edited position of the file according to the varied size of the cursor. CONSTITUTION: A controller(40) plays or edits a video signal stored in a hard disk(30), and re-stores the video signal in the hard disk(30). The controller(40) varies size and speed of a cursor for displaying a play position of the stored video signal according to a play time of the video signal. A flash ROM(50) stores an operating system and an application program. An RAM(60) loads a file when the controller(40) edits the file stored in the hard disk(30). A key input portion(70) inputs a control signal, and receives a speed change signal for varying a play speed from a remote controller or a setup key while editing the file or playing the video signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A video recording/reproducing device having a partial delete function is provided to enable a partial delete command to have a command corresponding to a start position and an end position of a partial area, and to provide a partial delete function, thereby improving an edition function. CONSTITUTION: An HDD(Hard Disk Drive)(151) records a moving image file having video data encoded in predetermined format. A main controller(160) deletes a partial area of the moving image file if a partial delete command for deleting the partial area for the moving image file is inputted, and controls the HDD(151) such that the HDD(151) can record the moving image file whose partial area is deleted. The main controller(160) has a deleted list generator(164). The deleted list generator(164) generates a deleted list by corresponding to the partial area.
