Abstract: PURPOSE: An AV device having a temporary file storing function is provided to store video data and audio data from a desired time, and to store the video data and the audio data in a position where the data are previously stored, when storing a broadcasting signal, thereby easily managing/controlling a storage medium without moving or copying a file stored in a temporary storage area. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(51) receives a broadcasting signal. A demultiplexer(52) separates the broadcasting signal into video data and audio data. An encoder(53) converts the separated video data and the audio data into an MPEG format, and stores the converted data in an HDD(70). A controller(54) outputs the video data and the audio data to a decoder(55), or stores the data in the HDD(70). If the controller(54) applies the video data and the audio data to the decoder(55), the decoder(55) releases the compressed video data and the audio data, and converts the data into an NTSC type.
