Abstract: A motor control device of a washing machine is provided to judge operational state of a motor by using an auxiliary controller even when a microprocessor of a main controller is not connected to a microprocessor of the auxiliary controller. A motor control device of a washing machine comprises a switching element(250), and a current detection unit(160). The switching element is installed at a main controller(100), selectively connected to any one of motor among different kinds of motors, and turned on and off in accordance with a control command of a first microprocessor(120) of the main controller, and transfers power and a control signal to a motor. The current detection unit detects the current flowing on the switching element when driving the motor and sends a signal corresponding to the detected current to the first microprocessor.
