Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for controlling Internet connection in a mobile communication terminal in which a web browser is embedded is provided to save a service charge by automatically and temporarily releasing the Internet connection in case that a web instruction is not inputted over a uniform time while a user reads a web document after the Internet connection using the mobile communication terminal and performing the Internet connection only when downloading an other web document again. CONSTITUTION: A control unit receives a URL(Uniform Resource Locator) of a web server to which an Internet connection is requested by a user(400), and connects the Internet through a base station, a BSC(Base Station Controller), and an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(402). The control unit receives a web document from the web server(404). The control unit displays the downloaded web document on a display unit(406), and waits the input from the user(408). If a certain web instruction is not inputted from the user(410,412), the control unit checks whether a web instruction input standby time elapses over a uniform time(416). If the web instruction input standby time elapses over the uniform time, the control unit displays only web document until an other URL, a link, or a refresh is inputted from the user and temporarily releases the Internet connection with the web server to be capable of termination from the outside while the user sees the web document(418). If the Internet connection stop request is inputted from the user(420), the control unit responds to the Internet connection stop request(424) and releases the Internet connection(414).
