Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling item movement on a screen using a moving button are provided to quickly select a rear item in case that many items exist by classifying movement by a page unit or an item unit according as a time pushed by the moving button is long or short and performing the classified movement. CONSTITUTION: A recognizing unit(30) recognizes a state in which a moving button(10) is pushed or released, and generates one item movement command or one page movement command according as the pushed time is long or short. An indicator mover(40) responds to the generation of the one item movement command or one page movement command, and moves the position of an indicator for indicating one time among items currently displayed on a screen. A timer(50) checks a time and informs the checked time to the recognizing unit(30) so that the recognizing unit(30) judges whether the time pushed by the moving button(10) elapses over a uniform time.
