Abstract: A device and a method for saving a memory in a mobile terminal are provided to expand available space in memory of the mobile terminal by compressing data basically used in the mobile terminal and storing the compressed data in the memory. A memory(150) stores basic data in one compressed basic data. A block address buffer(130) stores the address of a compressed block corresponding to address of the basic data. A paging buffer(110) stores the requested basic data temporarily. A de-compressor(120) checks address of the compressed block corresponding to address of the requested basic data by using the block address buffer and stores the requested basic data in the paging buffer by decompressing the checked block. A memory manager(100) checks whether the requested basic data is found from the paging buffer when the basic data is requested together with the address. The memory manager enables the de-compressor to decompress/store the requested basic data in the paging buffer when the requested basic data is not found. The memory manager returns address of the requested basic address when the requested basic data is found.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for preventing illegal access by using a prohibition key in an electronic device are provided to protect a system from an unauthorized person and to prevent the prohibition key leakage by dynamically using a changeable prohibition key. An electronic device comprises a control unit(100), an input unit(102), a display unit(104), a code check unit(106) and a storage unit(108). The control unit controls and processes the entire operations of the electronic device, and accepts a factor of a variable prohibition key from the input unit and stores the inputted factor in the storage unit. If a user certification event is generated to access the system, the control unit displays a message demanding code input on the display unit, and outputs the inputted code to the code check unit. The control unit permits the system access if a code correspondence signal is inputted from the code check unit, and otherwise the control unit prohibits the system access. The input unit inputs the code and variable factors of fixed prohibition key and variable prohibition key, and provides the code and variable factors to the control unit. The code check unit confirms whether the inputted code is the same as a preset code. The storage unit is made up of a ROM, a RAM, and a flash ROM. If the prohibition key exists within the inputted code, the storage unit stores a system protection program for preventing the system access from the user.

Abstract: A device and a method for translating many languages are provided to enable a user having no basic knowledge or knowledge for multi-language input in a computer to translate a predetermined foreign language in a portable terminal by using a multi-language mapping table. A multi-language processor(108) converts Hangul transcription for foreign pronunciation into predetermined foreign characters or translates the foreign language character into the Hangul transcription inversely by using the multi-language mapping table stored in a memory(106). A controller(100) performs translation and displays a translation result to a display part(104) by combining the converted foreign language characters.
