Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to increase an engagement amount between a mold frame and a light guide plate for preventing the movement of the light guide plate toward a lamp due to an external impact and the damage of the mold frame by the transmission of the impact. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a light guide plate(224) for guiding light from a lamp unit(221) to a display unit which displays images by the light, and having holding shoulders(224a,224b) formed by partially cutting at least a corner of an end of a light guiding unit to which the light from the lamp unit is incident, and protrusion parts(224a',224b') extended from a side wall of each of the holding shoulders outwardly to have a thickness smaller than the holding shoulders, and a mold frame(400) for receiving the lamp unit and the light guide plate and having holding protrusions(402,404) formed at positions corresponding to the holding shoulders to fix the light guide plate by being engaged with the holding shoulders and grooves formed on side walls facing the protrusion parts with a size for receiving the protrusion parts.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A light guide, a liquid crystal display module and a liquid crystal display device having the light guide are provided to improve the structure of a light guide plate to minimize motion of the light guide plate accommodated in a mold frame. CONSTITUTION: A light guide(224) receives light generated from a lamp unit and guides the light to a display unit for displaying images. Both ends of the first side corresponding to the light receiving side of the light guide are cut to form protrusions(224a,224b). The width of the first side including the protrusions is wider than the width of the second side opposite to the first side. The width of the protrusion becomes narrow as it goes toward the second side. The thickness of the light guide becomes thin as it goes from the first side to the second side.

Abstract: A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to reflect light emitted from a lamp to guide the light into a light guiding plate without using a lamp cover, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost of the display device, by wrapping a portion of the lamp with a reflective sheet.
