Abstract: A link adaptation system using a doppler frequency and a method thereof are provided to determine an SNR interval by using the doppler frequency, thereby reducing the number of measuring SNR. A link adaptation system comprises a doppler frequency prediction unit(310), an SNR prediction interval determination unit(320), an SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) measurement unit(330) and an MCS(Modulation Coding Scheme) level selection unit(340). Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling a bit rate in variable bit rate video coding are provided to prevent an image quality from being varied due to the kinds of frame in variable bit rate video coding. The average of quality measures of a present frame and the average of quality measures of a previous frame are calculated so that the variation of quality measures of the present frame is calculated with respect to the average of the quality measures. The calculated variation is compared with the threshold value of the measures. A quantization parameter is controlled in the response to the comparative result. The quantization parameter is reset if the absolute value of the variation is greater than a threshold value of measures. The quantization parameter is maintained if the absolute value of the variation is not greater than the threshold value.

Abstract: A method of adapting a link and a system thereof are provided to determine an offset value compensating for SNR according to whether an ACK message is received from a destination node, thereby selecting an optimum MCS level for a radio link.
