Abstract: PURPOSE: A gyroscope using a surface elastic wave and an angular velocity measuring method are provided to enhance the durability and the shock resistance using an elastic wave travelling along the surface of a piezoelectric material. CONSTITUTION: A gyroscope using a surface elastic wave comprises a resonator(200), a sensing oscillator(210), a reference oscillator(220), and a measuring circuit. The resonator generates a first surface elastic wave, produces the Coriolis force by the interaction of the applied angular velocity and the velocity component of the first wave at a Metallic dot layer(230) placed on a given location and a second surface elastic wave is generated by the Coriolis force. The sensing oscillator generates a third surface elastic wave and generates an interferential wave by the interference of the third wave and the second wave. The reference oscillator has the same structure to the sensing oscillator and generates a fourth surface elastic wave equal to the third wave. The measuring circuit measures the frequency difference between the interferential wave and the fourth wave to measure the magnitude of the applied angular velocity.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A wireless measurement apparatus and method using a surface acoustic wave base micro-sensor are provided to measure a minute change of environmental parameters by using a SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave) micro sensor. CONSTITUTION: A wireless measurement apparatus using a surface acoustic wave base micro-sensor comprises a SAW base micro sensor(10) and a portable reader(20). The SAW base micro sensor wirelessly transmits a plurality of pulse signals by reflecting the surface acoustic wave converted in order to measure the change of environmental parameters. The reader wirelessly transmits the pulse signal to the SAW base micro sensor in order to measure the change of the environmental parameters. The reader measures the change of the environmental parameters by counting the generation number of the pulse signal for a constant period.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A surface acoustic wave gyroscope using progressive wave and an angular velocity measurement method are provided to simplify the structure by omitting a voltage-controlled oscillator for driving a separate resonator drive. CONSTITUTION: A surface acoustic wave gyroscope using progressive wave comprises a surface acoustic wave sensing oscillator(110), a surface acoustic wave reference oscillator(120), a barrier(130), and a measuring circuit part. The surface acoustic wave sensing oscillator generates the progressive wave, the first surface acoustic wave. The surface acoustic wave reference oscillator produces the progressive wave, a third surface acoustic wave.
