Abstract: An anti-obesity composition comprising the extract of Acanthopanax senticosus is provided to reduce weight gain, concentration of blood LDL cholesterol and accumulation of neutral fat in the liver, so that obesity is prevented. The anti-obesity composition comprises the extract of Acanthopanax senticosus as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract of Acanthopanax senticosus is prepared by heating Acanthopanax senticosus in water or ethanol at 80-100 deg.C or 50-70 deg.C for 3-10 hours, and concentrating the water or ethanol extract at 40-60 deg.C or 30-40 deg.C under reduced pressure. An obesity inhibiting agent contains the anti-obesity composition, wherein the obesity inhibiting agent is formulated as milk, drink, capsule, pill, tablet or powder.
