Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing diaryheptanoid compounds for preventing and treating avian and swine influenza and novel swine-origin influenza A is provided to non-selectively suppress neuraminidase. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating oseltamivir phosphate-resistant novel swine-origin influenza A contains Curcuma longa extract as an active ingredient. The Curcuma longa extract contains bisdemethoxycurcumin, demethoxycurcumin, or curcumine. The Curcuma longa extract is obtained using ethanol, methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, or chloroform. A health food for preventing or treating Tamiflu resistant novel swine-origin influenza A contains bisdemethoxycurcumin, demethoxycurcumin, or curcumine.
