PURPOSE: A free-space optical communication module is provided to input and output an incident light and an emitting light through one lens unit. CONSTITUTION: An optical communication module (10) comprises a light transmitting unit including a light emitting device (LED) (112), a light receiving unit including a photodetector (122), and a lens unit (100). The lens unit is defined by coupling a first lens having a first focal distance and a second lens having a second focal distance. The LED is disposed at a first position at which light outputted from the LED in depth of focus of the first lens spreads at a predetermined divergence angle in correspondence with an optical communication direction. The photodetector is disposed at a second position at which the real image of the light received from the LED of the other optical communication module in depth of focus of the second lens is formed in correspondence with an optical communication direction. PURPOSE: A bio-chip readout sensor using an acoustic-optic modulator is provided to use a roof prism, a collimating lens, and a parabolic mirror instead of first and second mirrors, thereby obtaining a simple and stable optical system. CONSTITUTION: A bio-chip readout sensor(30) using an acoustic-optic modulator comprises a light source(300), a polarizing beam splitter(310), a AOM(Acoustic Optical Modulator) driving unit(330), a sample stage, light path guide units(350,355), a quarter-wave retarder, photo detectors(370,372), a demodulator(380), and a control unit(390). The light source provides lights. The polarizing beam splitter penetrates or reflects the lights from the light source depending on the polarized state. The acoustic-optic modulator sorts the lights from the light source into first lights and second lights and outputs the first and second lights. The AOM driving unit drives an AOM(320) depending on a modulation frequency. The sample state has a sample region in which a sample desired to measure is place or a reference region in which the sample is not place. PURPOSE: A surface plasmon biosensor using a light feedback source is provided to enable relatively easy optical alignment, low cost and miniaturization using a laser generator and an SPR system. CONSTITUTION: A surface plasmon biosensor comprises an SPR system, a light source and an automatic distance control unit. The SPR system modifies and outputs a generated measuring signal. The light source senses and outputs the measuring signal fed back from the SPR system(120). The automatic distance control unit adjusts the distance between the light source and the SPR system. A signal processing unit senses the property of a sample depending on surface plasmon resonance effect using an AC signal supplied from a driving control unit.

PURPOSE: A barcode reader using optical feedback effect is provided to improve performance using small number of components. CONSTITUTION: In an optical light transceiving unit(110), an optical output unit(111) and an optical detecting unit(112) are implemented as one module. The optical output unit outputs light. The optical detecting unit monitors the optical intensity variation of the optical output unit. A scan mirror unit(120) injects the light outputted form the optical transceiving unit to a barcode(200). The scan mirror unit brings light reflected from the barcode to the optical transceiving unit. A control unit(130) controls entire operations of a barcode reader(100).
