Abstract: The present invention provides new uses of gamma-oryzanol as a histamine receptor antagonist. The gamma-oryzanol is used as a natural anti-histamine agent which can be used for preventing or treating allergic rhinitis; inflammatory bowel disease; asthma; bronchitis; vomiting; stomach and duodenal ulcers; gastro-oesophageal reflux; sleep disorders; anxiety; and depression, and has an effect for reducing an increased hypnagogue time and increasing a sleep time. The gamma-oryzanol is a natural product derived from rice bran, thereby has no side effects, which develop cognitive impairment, tolerance, or dependence, even for a long-term use.

The composition is manufactured in the form of a tablet, powder, granule, or capsule.
