    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for controlling congestion in a V5.2 system of an access network is provided to control a congestion situation by calculating a congestion threshold, based on provisioned concentration information, detecting whether the congestion state exceeds the congestion threshold, and transferring a congestion signal to a call sender if the congestion state exceeds the congestion threshold.
