Abstract: 본 발명은 디지털 멀티미디어 방송 시스템에서의 수신장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에 따르면, 수신장치는 복수의 안테나를 통해 수신되는 수신신호 별로 파일럿 신호 또는 의사랜덤시퀀스 신호를 검출하고, 검출된 파일럿 신호 또는 의사랜덤시퀀스 신호를 토대로 복수의 안테나를 통해 수신되는 수신신호 각각에 포함된 추가신호에 대한 채널추정을 수행하고 채널프로파일을 생성한다. 그리고, 생성된 채널프로파일을 토대로 획득한 복수의 안테나를 통해 수신되는 수신신호에 포함된 추가신호 각각에 해당하는 주 경로 신호 위치를 일치시킨 뒤 추가신호에 대한 결합 다이버시티를 수행한다. 이후, 결합 다이버시티 처리된 추가신호는 등화기, 주파수 디인터리버, 디맵퍼, 역다중화기 및 채널 디코더를 통해 추가데이터로 출력된다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for transmitting and receiving digital multimedia broadcasting and a method thereof are provided to change the modulation system of the enhancement layer stream according to the broadcasting environment. The transmission unit is proceed the mapping of the symbol of the enhancement layer stream based on the symbol location of the base layer stream. The transmission unit is created the transfer frame. The different modulation system is used to the first and second layer modulation mode.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for receiving a signal in a digital broadcasting system are provided to improve a reception rate of a newly added signal to the existing digital broadcasting system by generating a first hierarchical signal and a second hierarchical signal based on the hierarchical modulated signal. Abstract: An apparatus and a method for demodulation in a transmission system are provided to improve reception of an addition layer by using a pilot existing in an addition layer signal. A receiver(210) receives the signal in the form of a transfer frame and the signal comprises a phase reference symbol, a fast information channel and a main service channel. Abstract: A method and an apparatus for receiving a broadcasting signal through a digital multimedia broadcasting network are provided to improve sensitivity of an OFDM receiver by removing an IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) unit in the OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) receiver.
