    Abstract: PURPOSE: A preparation method of micron-size silica is provided which is economical by controlling particle size distribution and shape of silica and using an ordinary crusher such as ball mill or vibration mill. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method of micron-size silica is characterized in that silica particles are wet crushed under the existence of a water system medium using a crushing medium selected from balls, rods and pebbles, wherein the silica particle, water system medium and crushing medium are contained in a volume ratio of 20 to 40 : 20 to 40 : 40 to 80 vol.%, the silica particles are synthesized in a wet process and has a moisture content of 60 to 80 wt.% and an average particle diameter of 300 to 340 micrometers, the water system medium is one or more mediums selected from water, alcohols and mineral oil, the balls are alumina balls having a diameter of 5 to 10 mm, the wet crushing treatment is performed under the conditions that crushing time is 0.5 to 3 hours, rotation speed of the ball mill is 60 revolutions per minute, and vibration number of the vibration mill is 1000 vibrations per minute, and the micron-size silica prepared by the preparation method has a maximum particle diameter less than 100 micrometers and an average particle diameter of 0.8 to 12.8 micrometers.
