A composition for inhibiting diabetes complication comprising a zingiberaceae(Alpinia officinarum) extract is provided to inhibit non-enzymatic glycosylation, binding between lipid peroxide and protein, oxidation and activity of aldose reductase. The composition for inhibiting diabetes complication comprises 0.001-99.9 wt.%, preferably 0.1-50 wt.% of the zingiberaceae(Alpinia officinarum) extract which is prepared by extracting zingiberaceae(Alpinia officinarum) with an organic solvent selected from C1-C5 alcohol, ethylacetate, hexane, acetone, chloroform, methylene chloride, and diluted solution thereof. The daily dosage of the composition is 0.1-100 mg/kg, and the composition is a pharmaceutical or food composition.

PURPOSE: A method for separating antioxidant material from licorice is provided to improve the efficiency of a dehyroglyasperin C, dehyroglyasperin D, and isoangustone A obtaining process from the licorice. CONSTITUTION: A fixed phase solvent is filled in the column of a high speed counter-current chromatography. A mobile phase solvent is injected into the column while the column is being rotated. When the fixed phase solvent is hydromechanically equivalent with the mobile phase solvent, licorice extract is injected through a sample injection hole in order to obtain effluent. Antioxidant materials are separated from the effluent.
