Abstract: PURPOSE: A catalytic regeneration apparatus and method for a diesel vehicle are provided to determined the timing of DeNOx through the comparison between the accumulated NOx amount and the total amount of NOx able to be loaded into LNT catalyst and to regenerate the LNT catalyst by controlling the air-fuel ratio to a rich level at the DeNOx timing. CONSTITUTION: A catalytic regeneration method for a diesel vehicle comprises the steps of: detecting engine control information(S101), calculating and accumulating the discharge amount of NOx through modeling of the engine control information(S103), comparing the accumulated NOx discharge amount with the loading limit of LNT catalyst(S105), and controlling the air-fuel ratio to a lean or rich level(S106). The engine control information comprises at least one or more among an air volume, a fuel amount determined according to the air volume, injection timing, and combustion pressure.
