    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for interfacing CAN data of a vehicle is provided to detect a malfunction of the vehicle by collecting CAN data from control units of the vehicle, storing CAN data in a personal computer and analyzing CAN data. CONSTITUTION: A system and resisters relating to CAN data are initialized in order to collect CAN data and achieve a serial interface(S100,S200). A file relating to CAN data is set so as to prepare the collection of CAN data and the serial interface(S300). When CAN data is transmitted to a control unit, CAN data are temporarily stored in a buffer(S500). Then, it is determined whether a data frame is detected(S600). If the data frame is detected, it is determined whether the data frame is a new data frame(S700). If the detected data frame is a new data frame, the data frame is transmitted into a personal computer using a serial interface after processing data through an identifier set-up(S800). If the detected data frame is not a new data frame, the data frame is transmitted into the personal computer through the serial interface(S900).

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for operating a message frame in a CAN(Controller Area Network) system is provided to enhance the field configuration system of a CAN message frame in a car so that each controller can recognize a data transmitted/received location only with the identifier field of a CAN message frame. CONSTITUTION: A user segments an identifier field into 3 field domains such as a destination field, a source field and an order field(ST21) and defines priority for the CAN data of each controller in accordance with the segmented field domains(ST22). The user defines priority for the internal CAN data for each controller according to the defined CAN data priority(ST23). Based on the defined CAN data priority of each controller, a transmitting side controller configures an identifier(ST24).
