    Abstract: PURPOSE: A muffler for a vehicle is provided to effectively reduce high frequency airstream sound by connecting a part of an exhaust gas outlet path and a part of an exhaust gas inlet path to a central chamber through a pitch hole. CONSTITUTION: A muffler for a vehicle comprises a muffler housing(1), a first and a second baffle(2a,2b), and an exhaust gas inlet pipe(4). The first and the second baffle are placed along the longitudinal direction of the muffler housing inside the muffler housing. The inside of the muffler housing is divided into a first chamber(3a), a second chamber(3b), and a third chamber(3c) by the first and the second baffle. The exhaust gas inlet pipe lets the exhaust gas into the inside of the muffler housing. The exhaust gas inlet pipe passes through one side of the muffler housing and is connected to the third chamber via the first and the second baffle.

An exhaust muffler of a vehicle comprises a housing(10) having a closed space with appointed capacity on the inside and installed to communicate with an exhaust channel, a first baffle plate(P-1) and a second baffle plate(P-2) installed to divide the inside space of the housing into a first chamber(C-1), a second chamber(C-2) and a third chamber(C-3) to make each space communicate with each other and provided with many first and second perforated portions(P-1a,P-2a), an inlet pipe(12) connected with an exhaust channel to make exhaust gas flow in the second chamber and the third chamber respectively, and an outlet pipe(14) flowing out the exhaust gas flew in the first chamber to the exhaust channel.
