    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing a trialkyl-S-trioxane, etc., as active component, having high safety to human body, free from disagreeable smell, exhibiting excellent moth-proofing and insecticidal effects, taking the form of sublimable solid at normal temperature and useful for the moth- proofing of textile products, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains a trialkyl-S-trioxane of formula (R is alkyl) which is an odorless non-toxic crystal having relatively high melting point and moderate sublimability, e.g. triisopropyl-S-trioxane, etc., dimethyl fumarate having the same characteristics as above and exhibiting effect in suppressing the feeding damage by textile vermin, and a synergist comprising diphenylene oxide and/or cyclohexanone oxime and, if necessary, a p-hydroxybenzoic acid ester. The composition has various excellent characteristics, for example, it does not liquefy even by leaving at 40 deg.C over a long period and the timing of replenishment is easily determined.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cockroach repellent, containing cinnamic acid as an active ingredient, capable of exhibiting excellent cockroach repellent effects for a long period, readily and safely applicable with low toxicity. CONSTITUTION:A cockroach repellent containing cinnamic acid (preferably trans type) as an active ingredient. The cinnamic acid is a compound having weak aroma and used as a food additive for antisepsis and preservation of vegetables, etc. The compound in the form of needle-type crystals can be wrapped as a powdery agent in Japanese paper or film and directly used. A carrier, such as talc or diatomaceous earth, is mixed therewith and further, a suitable excipient, as necessary, can be also mixed to provide a solid agent in a optional shape. Since the melting point is high, the agent is not melted even if the environmental temperature attains 50 deg.C. The cinnamic acid can be kneaded in a plastics and used in the form of plates or pellets. Furthermore, the cinnamic acid can be dissolved in a suitable solvent and applied as a solution by coating, spraying, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a mildew- and moth-proofing agent obtained by compounding naphthalene with a small amount of dimethyl fumarate, exhibiting remarkably improved mildew-proofing property of naphthalene and high synergistic effect which cannot be attained by separate use of each component. CONSTITUTION:The objective mildew- and moth-proofing agent can be produced by compounding 100pts.wt. of naphthalene with 1-20pts.wt. of dimethyl fumarate. The addition and mixing of dimethyl fumarate can be carried out in the form of powder or as a solution obtained by dissolving in a small amount of a solvent. EFFECT:The mildew- and moth-proofing effect lasts a long period.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled excellent controlling agent, containing combination of an alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate and camphor, capable of exhibiting feeding inhibitory action on fiber injuring insects, having high long action property and low toxicity without liquefying even on allowing to stand nor deteriorating plastic products. CONSTITUTION:A fiber injuring insect controlling agent is prepared containing combination of an alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate and camphor as an active constituent. Preferably, the alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate is methyl, ethyl and n-propyl ester thereof. The optimum mixing ratio of the alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate to the camphor is normally selected from 2-50wt% range. Since the vapor pressure of the alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate is lower than that of camphor and the content of the former in the composition ratio of both tends to increase with time, the above-mentioned mixing ratio is preferred.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A repellent having improved inhibitory action on eating damage of insect pest for fibers, improved durability of the effect, low toxicity to human body and safety, not being liquefied even if it is allowed to stand at relatively high temperature for a long period, comprising a blend of naphthalene and mandelic acid as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:Naphthalene having inhibitory action of eating damage of insect pest for fibers such as Tinea pellionella Linne, Attagenus megatoma Fabricus, etc., is combined with mandelic acid as a cooperating agent, so that the inhibitory action of naphthalene on insect pests for fibers is extremely improved to give an active ingredient. A blending ratio of the former to the latter of 100:1-100:10 by weight ratio. Mandelic acid is easily obtainable and inexpensive DL-mandelic acid is preferable. EFFECT:The titled repellent will not be liquefied even if it is allowed to stand under a relatively high-temperature environment at 40-50 deg.C and it will cause neither change in quality nor deformation of plastic products such as polystyrene, metals, coating compounds, etc., and will bring about no change in color tone even if it is directly brought into contact with such items.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:An insecticide useful for controlling fibrous insect pests, having im proved insecticidal power, improved durability, low toxicity and safety to human body, having no greasiness at relatively high temperature and a good smell, comprising a blend of naphthalene and vanillin as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:Naphthalene useful as an insecticide against fibrous insect pests such as clothes moth, Attagenus megatoma Fabricus, etc., is blended with vanillin which has high safety to human body, specific vanilla fragrance and improved fragrance retaining properties and has been used as spices for confectionery or perfume for cosmetic, as an assisting agent to increase the insecticidal effect of the compound, to give an active ingredient. The blending ratio of vanillin is preferably 1-30wt% based on naphthalene. EFFECT:The insecticide will not be liquefied at all even if it is allowed to stand in a relatively high-temperature environment at 40-50 deg.C, will cause neither change in quality and change in shape even if it is directly brought into contact with plastic product such as polystyrene, etc., nor change in color tone of metallic foil, coating compound, etc.
