Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled inexpensive composition having high safety to human body, excellent intake inhibitory activity against fibrous insect pests and durability thereof, comprising a combination of camphor, dimethyl fumarate and cyclohexanonoxime as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition containing (A) 50-95wt.% camphor, (B) 1-20wt.% dimethyl fumarate and (C) 1-30wt.% one or more selected from cyclohexanonoxime, diphenylene oxide and p-hydroxybenzoic ester as active ingredients. The component C acts as a synergist and extremely enhances insecticidal power in combination of the components A and B. The composition is used in a state of uniform blend of each component or molded by tabulating or melting and solidifying method and can be used. The composition is suitably applied to materials (e.g. cloth or food packing material) and places (e.g. closet) with are not suitable for direct treatment with a chemical.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a mildew-proofing agent obtained by compounding p- dichlorobenzene with a small amount of dimethyl fumarate, exhibiting remarkably improved mildew-proofing property of p-dichlorobenzene and high synergistic effect which cannot be attained by separate use of each component and suitable for the treatment of a container of clothes, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective mildew-proofing agent can be produced by compounding 100pts.wt. of p-dichlorobenzene with 1-20pts.wt. of dimethyl fumarate. The agent is used in the form of powder, tablet or pellet. The powder is filled in an air-permeable bag made of e.g. Japanese paper and the tablet or pellet is put into a properly perforated bag made of plastic or moistureproof cellophane. EFFECT:The mildew-proofing effect lasts over a long period.

Abstract: PURPOSE:An improved insecticide against fiber insect pests, stable at relatively high temperature and humidity, exerting no bad influence upon plastics, metals, coating compounds, etc., having low toxicity to human body, obtained by blending naphthalene or camphor with sorbic acid. CONSTITUTION:Naphthalene or camphor is blended with preferably about 1-30 based on naphthalene or camphor of sorbic acid as a synergist to give an insecticide against fiber insect pests. The insecticide against fiber insect pests has improved controlling action and improved durability of the effects.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a moth-proofing agent containing naphthalene in combination with itaconic acid as active components, resistant to liquefaction even after leaving in a relatively high temperature environment, causing no discoloration or deformation of plastic articles directly contacting with the agent, maintaining the color tone of metallic foil, etc., and exhibiting safe and excellent effect. CONSTITUTION:Naphthalene is combined with itaconic acid as a synergist and used as an active component of the objective moth-proofing agent. The optimum ratio of itaconic acid to naphthalene depends upon the air-tightness, size and material of the container, however, it is usually preferably 1-30wt% based on naphthalene. Itaconic acid is white crystal having a melting point of 167-168 deg.C and is industrially produced by liquid fermentation process. Itaconic acid has an acute oral toxicity (LD50) of 4,000mg/kg, no skin irritation and high safety.

Abstract: PURPOSE:A repellent against fiber pests which contains, as active ingredients, naphthalene and succinic acid as a synergist, thus showing durative action to inhibit fiber insect pests from eating clothes, while its toxicity to human is low. CONSTITUTION:Naphthalene or camphor is combined with succinic acid which has been used as a food additive and confirmed in its safety to human bodies at a weight ratio of 100/1-100/30, as effective components. EFFECT:Even when the combination is left standing for long periods under conditions of relatively high temperature such as 40-50 deg.C, the combination does not liquefy at all and causes no changes of its properties, even when it directly contacts with plastic products such as polystyrene, or no discoloration in metallic foil or paint.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a moth-proofing agent for clothes, exhibiting high and long-acting antifeeding effect against clothes vermin and having low toxicity and high safety to human body, by combining comphor with 2,6- dimethylnaphthalene as a synergist and using the mixture as active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains, as active components, (A) comphor which has high safety and is useful as a moth-proofing agent for Japanese clothes and (B) 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene which is a colorless crystal having a melting point of 110 deg.C and a boiling point of 261 deg.C, negative to mutagenicity test, free from carcinogenicity, easily decomposable, easily decomposed by bio-decomposition in natural environment and free from environmental pollution caused by accumulation. The weight ratio of A:B is 100:(1-30). EFFECT:The agent can be stored for a long period in mixed state without causing liquefaction and is stable even at a relatively high temperature. It is resistant to degradation and deformation even by the direct contact with plastic articles and does not cause the color change of metallic foil, paint, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled mildew-proofing agent containing camphor and diphenylene oxide as active components, having high safety to human body, exhibiting excellent mildew-proofing effect for a long period, and applicable to a body or place unsuitable to the direct treatment. CONSTITUTION:Camphor is combined with diphenylene oxide acting as a synergist, and the mixture is used as an active component of the titled agent. The amount of diphenylene oxide is preferably 1-10wt% based on camphor. Both compounds are mixed with each other or packed separately in air- permeable nonwoven cloth, etc., and placed close to each other. If necessary, the agent may contain binder, colorant, fungicide, insecticide, etc. Diphenylene oxide used as the mildew-proofing agent is a colorless crystal having a melting point of 83 deg.C and a boiling point of 287 deg.C and high safety and stability.

CONSTITUTION:An eating damage preventing agent against insect pests of fiber obtained by adding 3-10wt.% methyl fumarate to methyl oxalate. The preventing agent is stored in a bag prepared by laminating polyethylene to polyethylene bag, nonwoven fabric or Japanese paper and preferably used. In addition of methyl fumarate to methyl oxalate, methyl fumarate may be added in the powder state as it is or methyl fumarate is dissolved in a small amount of a solvent and can be uniformly blended with methyl oxalate.
