Abstract: An access control system is provided to prevent the surreptitious granting of access to privacy related functionality on an electronic device. Software-based events to grant access to device functionality can be validated by confirming that the software event corresponds with a hardware input event. This validation prevents the spoofing of a user interface input that may be used to fraudulently grant access to specific functionality.

Abstract: User switching for multi-user devices is provided. Each of multiple users of the multi-user device can have multiple external accounts that are each associated with one or more applications installed at the device. Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media for dynamically setting an executing application's display buffer size are described. To ameliorate display device overscan operations, the size of an executing application's display buffer may be set based on the display device's extent and a display mode. In addition, contents of the executing application's display buffer may be operated on as they are moved to a frame buffer based on the display mode. In one mode, for example, display buffer contents may be scaled before being placed into the frame buffer. In another mode, a black border may be placed around display buffer contents as it is placed into the frame buffer. In yet another mode, display buffer contents may be copied into the frame buffer without further processing.

Abstract: A unified communication application can allow a user to communicate with contacts across multiple electronic communication services. When the user desires to send a message, the communication application can identify a set of candidate account addresses associated with several electronic communication services in response to receiving a partial identifier of an intended recipient. The application presents a list including the set of candidate account addresses to the user. In response to receiving a user selection of one of the candidate account addresses, the application determines a sender account from which to send the message. The application can also aggregate communication history between the user and another person. A set of communication files associated with user identifiers of the user and the other person can be obtained, arranged, and presented to the user in an order based on a timestamp of each conversation line in the files.
