Abstract:
Systems and methods for efficiently navigating between applications with linked content on a touch-sensitive display ("TSD") are disclosed herein. In one aspect, the method includes displaying, in a full-screen mode on the TSD, a first application including a first selectable user interface ("UI") element associated with a second application. The method further includes detecting a selection of the first selectable user interface element and, in response thereto: (i) displaying the second application, including a second selectable UI element, in a predefined portion of the TSD and (ii) displaying a first indication corresponding to the first application in an additional portion of the TSD. The method also includes detecting a selection of the second selectable UI element and, in response thereto: (i) displaying the third application in the predefined portion of the TSD and (ii) displaying a second indication corresponding to the second application in the additional portion of the TSD.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a method for automatically generating an appointment for an electronic calendar. The method receives input to create a new appointment for the calendar. The method analyzes several previous appointments stored for the first calendar. Based on the analysis, the method automatically proposes a new appointment that has at least one appointment characteristic shared with at least one past appointment stored for the calendar. In some embodiments, the method receives text input describing a characteristic of the new appointment, and searches through the previous appointments using the text input.
Abstract:
An electronic device suggests contacts and calendar events for users based on their messages. The device can analyze a user's messages for contact and event information and automatically generate or update suggested contacts and calendar events for the user based on this information. The suggested contacts and calendar events can be searchable as if they were manually entered by the user, and the user can choose to add or ignore the suggested contacts and calendar events.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to aggregating and sharing wellness data. The wellness data can be received by a user device from any number of sensors external or internal to the user device, from a user manually entering the wellness data, or from other users or entities. The user device can securely store the wellness data on the user device and transmit the wellness data to be stored on a remote database. A user of the device can share some or all of the wellness data with friends, relatives, caregivers, healthcare providers, or the like. The user device can further display a user's wellness data in an aggregated view of different types of wellness data. Wellness data of other users can also be viewed if authorizations from those users have been received.
Abstract:
A multifunction device: displays a group of selectable objects in a first region of a display, each selectable object corresponding to a respective information item; detects selection of a plurality of selectable objects in the group of selectable objects; in response to detecting selection, displays a pile of two or more information items corresponding to the plurality of selectable objects at a first location in a second region of the display, each information item having a partially overlapping position with a neighboring information item in the pile; detects a gesture on the pile on the display; in response to detecting the gesture, moves the pile away from the first location in the second region; detects lift-off of the gesture from the pile; and in response to detecting the lift-off, moves the pile back to the first location in the second region
Abstract:
A multifunction device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface, while in a first application: displays content from an object in a read-only viewer and concurrently displays one or more application start icons with the read-only viewer; detects a user input on an application start icon; and, in response to detecting the user input on the application start icon, opens the object in a second application that corresponds to the application start icon.
Abstract:
In accordance with some embodiments, a computer-implemented text selection method is performed using an electronic device having a touch-sensitive display. The method can include displaying text on the touch screen display; detecting a text selection initiation gesture with the touch screen display; and in response to the text selection initiation gesture, inserting a text selection area bounded by a first endpoint located in the text at a first location and a second endpoint in the text at a second location. First and second endpoints can be moved by performing further gestures on the touch-sensitive display. Furthermore, word processing functions can be performed on the on the text located in the text selection area.
Abstract:
A portable device with a touch screen display detects a contact area of a finger with the touch screen display and then determines a first position associated with the contact area. The cursor position of the finger contact is determined, at least in part, based on: the first position, one or more distances between the first position and one or more of the user interface objects; and one or more activation susceptibility numbers, each associated with a respective user interface object in the plurality of user interface objects. If the cursor position falls into the hidden hit region of a virtual push button on the touch screen display, the portable device is activated to perform operations associated with the virtual push button.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for multitasking using touch-sensitive devices, including: displaying, by a display generation component, a first user interface of a first application; receiving a first input corresponding a request for displaying a second application with the first application in a concurrent-display configuration; displaying a second user interface of the second application and the first user interface of the first application in accordance with the concurrent-display configuration; receiving a second input; in accordance with a determination that the second input meets first criteria, replacing display of the second application with display of a third application to display the third application and the first application in accordance with the respective concurrent-display configuration; and in accordance with a determination that the second input meets second criteria that are distinct from the first criteria: maintaining display of the first application; and ceasing display of the second application without displaying the third application.
Abstract:
A computer system having a display generation component, one or more input devices, and one or more cameras receives a request to display a virtual object in a first user interface region that includes a field of view of the one or more cameras. In response to the request, in accordance with a determination that object-placement criteria are not met, the representation of the virtual object is displayed with a first set of visual properties and with a first orientation that is independent of which portion of the physical environment is displayed in the field of view of the one or more cameras. In accordance with a determination that the object-placement criteria are met, the representation of the virtual object is displayed with a second set of visual properties that are distinct from the first set of visual properties and with a second orientation that corresponds to a plane.
