Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays, on the display, content and an affordance, wherein: the affordance is displayed over a portion of the content; a value of a display property of the affordance is determined based a value of the same display property of the portion of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and the value of the display property of the content is permitted to vary within a first range of values, and the value of the display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a second range of values that is smaller than the first range of values; while displaying the content and the affordance, the device detects a change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and in response to detecting the change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed, the device changes the appearance of the affordance, including: in accordance with a determination that the value of the display property of the content has decreased, increasing the value of the display property of the affordance in accordance with a magnitude of a change in the value of the display property of the content and the second range of values; and in accordance with a determination that the value of the display property of the content has increased, decreasing the value of the display property of the affordance in accordance with a magnitude of the change in the value of the display property of the content and the second range of values.
Abstract:
Electronic devices with improved methods and interfaces for messaging are disclosed, including improved ways to: acknowledge messages; edit previously sent messages; express what a user is trying to communicate; display private messages; synchronize viewing of content between users; incorporate handwritten inputs; quickly locate content in a message transcript; integrate a camera; integrate search and sharing; integrate interactive applications; integrate stickers; make payments; interact with avatars; make suggestions; navigate among interactive applications; manage interactive applications; translate foreign language text; combine messages into a group; and flag messages.
Abstract:
At an electronic device, detect a first input on the touch-sensitive surface that represents selection of a first ideogram. Identify at least one attribute of the first ideogram. Select a plurality of suggested one or more characters to display, where at least a first set of suggested one or more characters is selected based on a set of selection criteria, the set of selection criteria including the identified at least one attribute of the first ideogram. Display at least the first set of suggested one or more characters. Detect a second input on the touch-sensitive surface that represents selection of the displayed first set of suggested one or more characters. In response to detecting the second input, displaying a composed electronic message, the composed electronic message including the first ideogram and the selected first set of suggested one or more characters.
Abstract:
A device with a display and, optionally, a touch- sensitive surface detects a first input corresponding to a request to share first content from a first application while displaying the first application on the display. In response to detecting the first input, the device displays a sharing interface that includes a plurality of options for sharing the first content. While displaying the sharing interface, the device detects selection of an affordance in the sharing interface. In accordance with a determination that the affordance is a respective user-first sharing option for a respective user, the device initiates a process for sharing the first content with the respective user. In accordance with a determination that the affordance is a protocol-first sharing option for a respective protocol, the device initiates a process for sharing the first content using the respective protocol.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display displays a user interface on the display. The device determines a first set of content-display values for one or more content-display properties of first content that corresponds to a respective region of the display. The device determines a first set of control-appearance values for one or more control-appearance parameters based on the first set of content-display values. The device displays a control in the respective region of the display, wherein an appearance of the control is determined based on the first content and the first set of control-appearance values.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for detecting documents within content received by a computing device. A computing device can receive content through an application. The received content is scanned to determine if it includes a file type indicating that it includes a redeemable document. A notification is presented to the user when a document has been detected within the content including a button enabling rendering of the document on the computing device. The rendered document can include a button to transmit the document to secondary computing devices associated with the user. A user profile associated with the user can include data indicating secondary computing devices associated with the user. The user profile can be accessed to retrieve the data and, if the button is selected, the document can be transmitted to the secondary computing devices from which the user can render the document.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface receives notification(s) while the device is in a screen-off state. After receiving the notification(s), the device detects an input for waking the device to a screen-on state. In response, the device transitions to the screen-on state and displays the notification(s) on a wake screen user interface. The device further detects another input for dismissing the wake screen user interface and ceases to display the wake screen user interface. Afterwards, the device detects a third input for redisplaying the wake screen user interface. In response, upon determining that the third input meets notification-clearance criteria, the device redisplays the wake screen user interface without displaying at least one of the notification(s); and upon determining that the third input does not meet the notification-clearance criteria: the device redisplays the wake screen user interface and redisplays at least one of notification(s).
Abstract:
An electronic device presents a first portion of structured content on a display. The structured content includes a plurality of sections and the first portion includes content from a first section of the plurality of sections. The device detects a contact on the touch-sensitive surface, detects an increase in a characteristic intensity of the contact, and detects a movement of the contact. In response to detecting the increase in the characteristic intensity of the contact and the movement of the contact: in accordance with a determination that the characteristic intensity of the contact increases above an intensity threshold, the device translates the structured content to display a start of a second section; and in accordance with a determination that the characteristic intensity of the contact does not increase above the intensity threshold, the device translates the structured content in accordance with a magnitude of the movement of the contact.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display, a touch-sensitive surface, and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface: detects a first gesture that includes concurrently detecting a first contact and a second contact, detecting an intensity of the first contact, and detecting an intensity of the second contact; and, in response to detecting the first gesture: in accordance with a determination that the first gesture meets first operation criteria (including a criterion that is met when the intensities of the first and second contact satisfy a respective intensity threshold), performs a first operation; and, in accordance with a determination that the first gesture meets second operation criteria, wherein the second operation criteria are capable of being met when the intensities of the first and second contacts do not satisfy the respective intensity threshold, performs a second operation that is different from the first operation.
Abstract:
The present aspects relate to audio management for a web browser. For example, an electronic device such as a mobile device may enable a user to navigate to a webpage within a web browser. In some embodiments, the webpage may automatically initiate presentation of audio content. However, the user may wish to quickly silence the audio content that is playing without locating the media player controls of the audio content within the webpage. Accordingly, the present aspects provide audio control for a web browser. Specifically, an audio control affordance may be displayed at a noticeable and recognizable position or area in the web browser, and based on a determination that a webpage includes audio content and/or determination of playback of the audio content. The user may in turn readily adjust a property of the audio content.
