Abstract:
Techniques for adjusting formats of images and video are presented, for example where an SDR source is presented on an HDR display, or vice versa. Techniques include deriving a conversion profile for image data where the conversion profile is responsive to parameters describing characteristics of a domain of source image data and characteristics of a domain of a target rendering environment. Some techniques include creating a tone curve from weighted basis functions.
Abstract:
A device comprises memory, a display characterized by a display characteristic, and processors coupled to the memory. The processors execute instructions causing the processors to receive data indicative of the display characteristic, data indicative of ambient lighting, and data indicative of content characteristics for a content item; determine a tone mapping curve for the content item based on the data indicative of content characteristics; determine a first, so-called “anchor” point along the tone mapping curve; modify a first portion of the tone mapping curve below the anchor point based on the data indicative of ambient lighting; modify a second portion of the tone mapping curve above the anchor point based on the data indicative of the display characteristic; perform tone mapping for the content item based on the modified toned mapping curve to obtain a tone mapped content item; and cause the display to display the tone mapped content item.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatus for a user equipment to mitigate interference in a wireless charging state. The user equipment may determine when the user equipment enters a wireless charging state and, when the user equipment enters the wireless charging state, activate an interference mitigation. The user equipment may further determine when the UE exits the wireless charging state and, when the user equipment exits the wireless charging state, deactivate the interference mitigation.

Abstract:
Some embodiments relate to a user equipment device (UE), and associated methods for enabling the UE to estimate motion of the UE based on cell type. In some embodiments, in response to determining that a serving cell of the UE is not a macro cell, a motion estimation algorithm may be disabled for at least a first time period and when the first time period lapses, the motion estimation algorithm may be partially enabled to estimate speed of the UE for at least a second time period. In response to the speed of the UE remaining above a speed threshold for at least the second time period, the motion estimation algorithm may be fully enabled. In response to the speed of the UE not remaining above the speed threshold for at least the second time period, the motion estimation algorithm may be disabled for at least a third time period.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for proactively populating an application with information that was previously viewed by a user in a different application are disclosed herein. An example method includes: while displaying a first application, obtaining information identifying a first physical location viewed by a user in the first application. The method also includes exiting the first application and, after exiting the first application, receiving a request from the user to open a second application that is distinct from the first application. In response to receiving the request and in accordance with a determination that the second application is capable of accepting geographic location information, the method includes presenting the second application so that the second application is populated with information that is based at least in part on the information identifying the first physical location.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content on an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a method includes presenting content in a first application. At least a portion of the content is presented without requiring input from a user. The method further includes receiving a request to open a second application. In response to receiving the request, the second application is presented with an input-receiving field. Before receiving any user input at the input-receiving field, a selectable user interface object is displayed with an indication that the portion of the content was viewed in the first application, allowing the user to paste at least the portion of the content into the input-receiving field. In response to detecting a selection of the selectable user interface object, the portion of the content is pasted into the input-receiving field.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content are disclosed herein. An example method includes: detecting, via the touch-sensitive display, a search activation gesture from a user of the electronic device. The method also includes: in response to detecting only the search activation gesture, displaying a search interface on substantially all of the touch-sensitive display, the search interface including: (i) a search entry portion; and (ii) a predictions portion with one or more user interface objects each associated with a respective locally-installed application. Each respective locally-installed application is selected from among a plurality of locally-installed applications for inclusion in the predictions portion based on an application usage history associated with the user of the electronic device.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to dynamic phrase expansion for language input. In one example process, a user input comprising text of a first symbolic system is received. The process determines, based on the text, a plurality of sets of one or more candidate words of a second symbolic system. The process determines, based on at least a portion of the plurality of sets of one or more candidate words, a plurality of expanded candidate phrases. Each expanded candidate phrase comprises at least one word of a respective set of one or more candidate words of the plurality of sets of one or more candidate words and one or more predicted words based on the at least one word of the respective set of one or more candidate words. One or more expanded candidate phrases of the plurality of expanded candidate phrases are displayed for user selection.
